I'm pretty sure the R will just stand for a re-color, not a renewal. GX-13 with all its shortcomings was one of my favorite SOC, but over the years mine has turned into a yellow mess :/

Renewal Daimos can't be too far behind....I cant wait for that one. Weirdly and sadly Daimos wasn't on the voting list. Remember Dancouga and Baikanfu were voted on by fans from a list of proposed re-issues that Bandai put up. The list was Baikanfu, Dancouga, God Mars, Ideon, and I think GX-50 Combatler V. (I may be missing one). Daimos wasn't an option. Which makes me think that if they do do a new Daimos it would be a completely new full re-engineer. One of the biggest disapointments of the SOC is that the truck cab is one piece to the truck itself and has no articulation. Something that the classic DX did have. I'm guessing they view it as one that would need more than a "refresher" in terms of changes. That fuzzy pic of Dancouga looks good. Is the cockpit still transparent? That was always one thing the SOC had over the Sentinel. The clear red windows instead of simply painted on ones. (And yes I know thats a subjective opinion, some prefer the painted look vs the clear.) I think I am looking forward to this guy more than Baikanfu. Whiel I have always wanted a Baikanfu, I've been much more in a mood for massive chunky combiners lately and Dancouga scratches that itch. I'm with you my friend! I would love the cockpits to be transparent as well!!! Something that Sentinel missed in my opinion. Looking forward to more updates

Same thing happened to mine and it has never seen sunlight or excessive artificial light. Looks terrible now. I'm pretty sure the R will just stand for a re-color, not a renewal. GX-13 with all its shortcomings was one of my favorite SOC, but over the years mine has turned into a yellow mess :/

I assume it will be labeled as GX-13R (or something like that) like Baikanfu. There's already a GX-13R, so I'd bet on "something like that".

First official pics of Gx-13R are up. So it's a bit darker grey, I can't tell how different the shoulders are? The new 27,000 Yen price is a heck of a jump from the old 20,790 back in 2003. Release date is in Oct (same as the SRC Great Mazinkaiser, man October is going to be expensive). I just hope Bandai wised up and changed the internal groin bar for Big Moth to metal now, originally it was clear plastic(!!) Some folks experienced groin breakages over time with their Dancougars. Thanks for the info Gold, and they decided to go with GX-13R, and not 'something like that' Nice. I think the head looks smaller and more sleek. Not sure what the shoulder difference is. And.. I thought it was going to be a Dec release, but looks like they want to milk as much as possible! Sep Baikanfu, then Oct Dancouga. What's the rush Bandai, seriously? Dec release is much more perfect in a business sense.

I'm worried they'll go a DX Grendizer or something in December, hence the rush. Gold

I may get this seeing how I missed out on the Sentinel release.
I hope the ratchets are not loose like they were in the old release.

Thanks for the update Gold! This is perfect who missed the sentinel one. Looking good so far I never owned the original release. I still love my sentinel - I would still definitely get this October gives me a bit more time to save up since I'm not getting Baikanfu anyway October is just around the corner

The Sentinel is amazing combined and added with a much broader range of motion than the old SoC. The one thing I like more about the SoC is the better balance between the individual modes though I wished Bandai just redid this mold altogether using some of the new tricks seen in Sentinel's take.

I fell in love with the articulation of the Sentinel! But yeah there is a saying BIG is GOOD! I'm looking forward to this, I was about to get the sentinel blackwing but with this announcment, I think Bandai will release their own version of Black wing (I have this feeling)

Also, for the basic jetpack, can they actually get the cannons to work. Sentinel fixed that easy problem. I would also like to see some more added articulation for the individual mecha that is not Big Moth. Especially the Cougar and Liger.

I'm pretty sure the R will just stand for a re-color, not a renewal. GX-13 with all its shortcomings was one of my favorite SOC, but over the years mine has turned into a yellow mess :/ What yellowed on it? That's not really that normal for modern plastics. Especially not import stuff. The yellowing isn't a result of "Plastic Quality", it comes from the Bromine Flame Retardent additive that they have to put in childrens toys and electronics. SOC's don't actually need BFR's? They aren't really categorized as toys, but more adult collectables. Much the same as Model Kits (which don't require BFR).

I guess it would make sense as plastics are made from oils. But really,I am really curious as if it yellows anyway without any need for sunlight,I will be worried.

If you guys are interested in reading an old thread from a couple years ago. robotjapan.proboards.com/thread/22702/dancouga-gx-13?page=2Anyway, the older SoC aren't as good as today's. Same kind of yellowing happens to the white parts of original GX-04 Grendizer Spaizer ship. Not sure if the 04S edition had this problem. I remember hearing about this problem on some of the GFFMC Unicorn Gundam too. Honestly, I don't think this will happen with this new releases though.
