Was this ever confirmed, that it only had one form? I know we only saw that one form in the manga, but that by itself doesn't exclude the possibility that it could also form its versions of Getter 2 and 3, since Ishikawa never got to finish the story.

I'm pretty sure Bandai is not showing a Shin Getter is because of the Sentinel version coming out. They will most likely wait till the it's out for awhile and maybe in next year we will see something. It could also be something with licensing rights as to who can make a figure in that size range. Either way Bandai is not stupid in the end they always have a game plan, you don't get to be the biggest toy manufacturer in Japan by making stupid decisions. Someone please correct me, but It's kind of hard for Bandai to run into a "Rights Issue" with most of these. They quietly own enough of Toei, and they outright own all of Sunrise just to insure that sort of thing. Although I am not sure how the Go Nagai Manga stuff comes into play? |

I think as the story goes, everytime it changes it causes a "big bang" across the universe. So all we ever see is Getter 1 I think, they never really got far along enough in the story to reveal other forms? Gold |

Bandai owns roughly 2% of Toei which is quite a considerable amount but not a guarantee to exclusivity as we've seen with products made outside of Bandai Japan. As for "right's issues" it's most likely the case of Toei asking if Bandai want to make a robot "x" at a certain size, price range, and depiction. It's is up to Bandai if it want's to make that toy, if not it will see if another company will want to or in a lot of cases a company will come to Toei and ask if they can make certain toy and up to Toei to see if the rights are free to let them if it is in their best interest. I'm sure if Bandai wanted to they can make anything they wanted from Toei it's just a matter if they have time to fit it in their production plans or if their even interested, if not potentially another company will pick up the rights fore x amount of time. That's why I say a licensing issue is that Bandai could have passed initially on making a Shin Getter at the same size and roughly the same price range as the Sentinel one in which they chose to pass and have to wait to get that licence back. Or the more likely reason is that they are just waiting to let Sentinel sell theirs and just wait a bit till they release their version like what happened with the Mazinkaiser's. I'm sure all the major players know what the others are making and tailor their release as to not conflict with another companies release so they don't saturate the market. |

I guess maybe I don’t understand but am I alone in disliking this robot? I really like the Getter Robo and Getter G series but I don’t know enough about the Getter extended universe to make this robot appealing. Is this a character the fans have been after? It’s totally cool if it is but, again, I’m a big super robot enthusiast and a Go Nagai fan but I just don’t like the look of this character and don’t understand its context in the greater scheme of things. Is this something you guys are excited about and, if so, why? Is there a series to identify it? Many thanks!

It's actually one of the most powerful mechs ever conceived and it's super important for the plot of the manga series. I also really recommend reading the getter robo saga. It's, in my opinion, way, WAY better than the animes. |

Intrested... though I think I'd rather have Metal Build Getter 1 or Black Getter in the style of MB Mazinger, also SOC Black Getter would be great whenever they feel like getting to it.
