Its like chasing a uncorn at the end of a rainbow farting butterflies! Why cant Bandai made more of these DX? Because they're stupid. I guess factory limitations on capacity. They have lots of products lined up. But even still, they could leave the PO open for some time and release the products in waves. It works for the Hot Toys crowd when ordering through Sideshow. Probably an exclusive limited run to increase the value of it? |

Bandai doesn't profit from the scalping that happens. Some collectors only want certain characters as well. I don't think the shortage on the DYRL VF-1S Hikaru drums up demand for VF-1A cannon fodder. I didn't even bother with Max's 1A. Collectors already have an idea of what they want and will get. |

Collectors already have an idea of what they want and will get. Exactly! Scalpers are the one reaping out Bandai's labor. I also dont get Bandai's business plan. The demand is high yet theyre cheaping out on the supply? Way to go Bandai!!! Same thing that happened with the Chogokin Lion Force and Vehicle Team VOltron. Why oh Why Bandai? |

I got 2x one with a bit of mark up but might keep both as I just love this VF-1S with super parts display one in Fighter/Gerwalk and one in Battroid

FWIW, I am hearing that the Japanese market just is not like it was a few years ago...so, Bandai is curbing some of their production numbers. In short, while it may not seem like it, the demand is actually less than before. |

In short, while it may not seem like it, the demand is actually less than before. That is part of what I don't get. If that's true then they should be trying to tap into the potential of the overseas markets, where there should be much more potential for growth. IMO they don't even have to expand any retail channels, just figure out how to distribute P-Bandai to a broader market, which is more shipping/logistics. None of the secondary market profits are going to Bandai. I know in general Japanese companies are very conservative, but this just seems so obvious. |
