With dng0000's request www.facebook.com/340124649785323/videos/349273635537091/Total 4 suspects. They interviewed DM's owner. He said he studies art or design growing up, and he self taught how to do this by buying Bandai's kit and hence later creating DM. Suspect states that he likes Gundam because it has asian element in it, but he says he feel the modification from the original is enough to not get into copyright infringement. Later they interview the investigator the investigator says the suspect claim his toy are all original design . DM illegally made about roughly over million of yuan by making bootleg kits. Nothing about jail time, I guess the trial has not begun. They are just under arrest right now. Funny around 1:08 the cop ask whose factory is it, the granny said "it's ours" then immediately rephrase "we rent it"

Read about a their CEO being sentenced to 3.5 years in prison and a fine of 1,900,000 CNY on Facebook. Couldn't find a more credible source, though. The post did include screenshots of a newscast, but I can't read Chinese.

Okay, luckily DM is based China so that's not the last light we could see from them. There are remnants of DM that produce PG Exia LED. I believe DM CEO will play the scapegoat for several years, while the rest continues working in a more "appropriate" manner.
If possible, people should know that lawsuits aren't just black and white. It's just conversion from money to "your" justice after all. Of course Bandai would win over a small company like DM. It's only the reason why they choose to sue DM that could be interesting.

I'll say the same here that I said in the FB post itself. DM made us a Master Grade TV Deathscythe Hell. For that reason alone I am forever grateful to them.

I have to confess. The only thing made me into Gundam Metal Build collector is third party robots. At first, I have no interest at all into Bandai MB. Why? because 'their (Bandai MB)' size is small, Its price is ridiculously high, and so damn hard to get. With third Party MB, like Mo Show or Poison or whatever its name, I get bigger Gundam, cheaper price and easier way to purchase, because not every collectors wants it. Some of those "Bandai Purists" even curse it. Am I guilty supporting fake products? Yes of course. I'm perfectly understand that Gundam is Bandai IP. Then, why I still purchase those bootlegs? Well, perhaps because IMO Mo Show/Poison MB is better than the originals. Same thing happen for DM case. DM were exist because they provide what Gunpla fans want. Is it justified what DM did? No.

No. Moshow had their own mold of the 1/72 MB Strike a full 2+ years before Bandai announced its MB Strike, and and an original mold of the 00 Qan T a full year before Bandai's. I also think Moshow's 00Q probably made Bandai put more effort into their own MB 00Q than they usually do for MB figure's. In DM's case, they were at least providing several alternate or new designs that Bandai wasn't doing. I had been looking forward to the Blue Frame 3rd. I have to wonder why Bandai hasn't gone after Daban, which has been around longer and has put out a lot more direct copies of existing Bandai kits than DM did, unless it was more about DM's quickly advancing quality and original designs. The metal build knock offs exist because there's a market for lower priced figures, especially when Bandai has sold out and the secondary market's prices are ridiculous to the extreme.

Bandai definitely will. I read somewhere Daban had another name, and changed it to daban when bandai went after them. It just a matter of time when bandai will make a move again.

IMO there is some reason behind DM raid. First, Bandai want to secure their market. Japan is their primary market, so DM effort to enter Japan market is a suicide.
Bandai teach DM some lesson about manners, and strike right into their factory, shut them down for good. Second, Bandai won't bother with lesser quality gunpla and their distribution in China. Why? because legal process is arduous & expensive. its just not worth it. Third, this is probably most important for all 3rd party factory out there. Do not create Gundam Metal build or Gunpla kits with better quality and lesser price than Bandai! If any 3rd Party dare to release better kits or bigger and cooler Metal Build than Bandai, it means they ready for the consequences.

You mean like Moshow and their MB+ Strike, "Hurricane" and 00Q, which are objectively as good or better than Bandai's MB's? π

From a distance they look good, but fit issues and some details being kinda mushy/washed out are pretty eehhh.
I've got a couple of their v2 MG articulated hands also and they're not bad. Closer to authentic in quality than some of the other KOs even though they've been slightly retooled.

For those who make purchases from Gundammodelcenter:
"Bandai has taken action against the local maket store selling Daban and other 3rd party kit this week, Most of the store and market are noticed in advanced before the actiion . But 2 of the most largest warehouse store of the local regional distributor has been checked by the Bandai and was forced to close for 7 days . There will be a delay on shipping for this week and some of the supply may be in short before the law action ends ( The action say to last for 5 days). We are 100% good and operating normally. but need to be careful. And Daban factory is still good, only some of its distributor store has been checked by Bandai ( It seems the MB Blue Astray is a curse for all the 3rd party factory)"

So maybe get your 3rd party orders in before Bandai takes further action? I'd like to see the EW Deathscythe, Kashtriya, and Sinanju come out though before everything gets shut down.
