I built two of the Voltron MiniPla’s earlier this month, and if it’s anything like that, it should be a fun build!
Now that I know it’s a model kit, I’m intrigued!

I'm probably dreaming here - but if Good Smile worked with SEN-TI-NIL on their Mazinkaisers, do you guys think it's within the realm of possibility that we could see a SEN-TI-NIL Voltron?

This will be taller than the Bandai kit too right? The Mini-Pla are so, well, Mini

Well, that's the Voltron I'll happily buy. This will easily kick the sh*t out of the super minipla.

It seems taller/larger than the MiniPla.
Like the MiniPla, I'll have to buy two -- one to display in full formation, and one to display the individual lions.

well if it turned out to be good looking figure i would happily go for it
but before that did any one of us bought anything from this line before ?
we need a feedback on the quality and the durably of this model kit, also do you just need to assemble it, or does it need paint and glue and all the headache ?

These are fair questions... I honestly have never heard of GSC’s ‘Moderoid’ line until today. But I assume these are similar in nature to Bandai Hobby’s Gundam kits – no paint/glue needed.

It's not that large. The Moderoid Godmars is only 19cm, or 7.5". Minipla Voltron is about 7". Based on the teaser, Moderoid Voltron is still smaller than Godmars.

no i want a fewture version Can’t help feeling that the silhouette Voltron is nothing more than just the Bandai Mini-Plan version. They blacked it out cause it a product from another company and they are using it for scale references to their product. In advertisements, most companies don’t like to show their products along side products from another company. Hence they will black them out.

no i want a fewture version if this ends up anything like Mazinkaiser, I'll be all over it. though looking at Godmars, they might end up going for a more simplified version than the "Infinity-esque" look of the Mazinkaisers. Kaiser restock when? I really don't wanna pay $90 for a $45 model kit

Doh! False alarm....
As you guys can see, there is no GoLion Moderoid in the works. This was just a blog post by one of Good Smile's employees. The translation is kinda rough. But apparently he's excited by the coincidence that Katsuyoshi Marakami designed, and Popy released, GodMarz and GoLion at the same time in 1981 - just as Bandai and Good Smile are releasing the two models in tandem today. Go figure.

It's a shame. I actually thought WEP might start licensing Voltron to some smaller, more unique companies so we could get some different takes on the robot. Kinda like the KOB... but not bootleged. Sentinel? FEWTURE?
Naa... the license will probably end up back with Toynami.
