If you’re still looking for a US seller, BBTS, entertainment earth, toydojo still has PO’s open. Thanks! I was able to get one from another source, but at a higher price than I could get. Because deepdiscount offered such a great price, I did not pre-order it from elnightmedia when I got the chance. Given the fact that it is still widely available everywhere, I suspect that deepdiscount never really pre-ordered this from Bandai, the whole thing might be a scam to get a 0% interest loan for 5 months from whoever pre-ordered it from them. Nonetheless, will never pre-order anything from them regardless the price.

alright guys, here is my review for this guy
first thing mine is loaded with QC im talking about WTF type how this unit pass Bandai tests ? (assuming they have any)
since this damn blue seal of quality and its a QC figure after another, those f**kers at Bandai need to get sh*t together
titan waist is super loose
the plastic on RA back is make some loud sounds whenever i try to transform it
shin have ton of brush scratches all over its side
on one of the figures they forgot to put the protecting plastic on one of the feet
i hardly touch the 2nd jet moving part (the tiny one in front) and it got broken ! because they used cheap a plastic joint (be extra careful while handling it)
it feels like this is done by another company not by Bandai, this is worst than the Toynami's Voltrons (not kidding)
while handling the figures i noticed a black paint on my fingers (maybe its from the fists)
seriously WTF Bandai
thats the QC part, now to the figure
about the GX40 its an 11 years old figure with an 11 years old design, so why they didnt improve the engineering abit, instead of just giving it a new accessories and new paint ?
the transformation of the robots is so annoying and because the joints are so tight (not the good type of tight) it took me alot of time to put it together and alot of time to take it apart
the fist changing is so damn annoying (remind me of the original Fewture Mazinger)
when i finally combined it, it looks good no doubt but the articulation is stupidly limited
dead serious if those f**kers at Bandai keep doing this stupid QCed figures i will go to another lines whats the point of paying high end price on garbage

Damn. This is a rough review! Does anyone have the original to compare this version to? I’d be interested to know how much worse it is!

Damn....really sorry to hear that.
Can you somehow get a refund credit or something? I'd def reach out to the shop and/or Bandai. Then contact CC or PayPal to get your money back. 300 is ALOT of money for a purchase you're not happy with...(UNLESS you do make 500 an hour)...
I Hope most of it is just one off QC issue. Can other bros who got this chime in?
IF its wide spread then...

hopefully, this was just a fluke... it'd be really disappointing if they dropped the ball on this one... design is dated indeed but i'm not sure if bandai would re-design this guy given the demand on this one may not be as popular. Still sucks to hear your tale, best of luck in getting some help from bandai at least hopefully.

thing is bro, how come this is HLJ mistake ? they did nothing wrong, its totally BanDIED mistake, they didn't double check on the product before shipping out
i thought about it, it wont worth the headache, it will cost at least around $130 not to mention the time spent on this matter, since the actual figures are not broken i will stick with this QC loaded figure
im putting a huge red line under BanDIED now, its just so funny when you see company like Fewture stepping up their game with QC free figures and superb quality, while BanDIED keep tumbling down, a release after another, it just feels like they lost their passion for these things

thank you
i understand your point dark, but the GX-31V Voltes got an improved joints system when they released it, also the GX-50 Combattler V it was a huge improvement over the GX-03 thats what i can remember right now
so why they didn't do the same for this release at least they could give it the same legs system that they used on the GX-60 God Sigma, just tiny updates to make it better than the old release
speaking of the old release, did you know it cost back in the day around 24,840 Yen while this one cost about 30,240 Yen, about 5400 Yen different, just of a new color and couple of accessories, come on
im not sure about the robot popularity to be honest but before the R version the regular GX-40 asking price was around $500

Dam sorry to hear S_Gokin I can only imagine if you did video review of this
I wasn’t planning on getting this but God Mars hip articulation is like zero. I prefer the original color anime accurate version so Ill just stick with it. I saw people selling their original ones probably going to regret it if indeed QC issues are common.

Yeah I remember the price diff and that was many many moons ago. I get your point too... Bandai hasn't really been consistent with the R releases, though the voltes and combattler improvements were noticeable, it didn't seem to be the case with others like the re-release of mazinger, aphrodai, and gunbuster. I personally feel these days companies including Bandai will simply charge more cause they can and blame it on economic drivers like inflation and trade wars, but I digress... ultimately I hope it is a fluke and that Bandai continues their tradition of releasing high quality pieces especially with the dairugger xv that is coming out soon... it's one of my childhood favorites so I really hope they don't drop the ball on this one given the amount of connections and joints required to form the bot up...

thank you guys for your support
i will share with you some of the photos of the QC issues i have
this is the part i told you about, the sad thing i didn't even move it with force i was been extra careful before it pop out in my hand, the plastic circle that hold the joint is very cheaply made sadly
those are the scratches on shin ( i gave it to a friend who kinda helped with the scratches and made them waaaay less visible) but trust me it looks worse in person
this is the paint from the fists ? im not sure exactly which one
there is more QC like titan super loose waist and the plastic cracking sound on RA while transforming it but i didn't take photos or videos for that
