I remember one member here who's Volt Bomber didn't have the clip to connect the head and I watched a video where one of the feet connectors on Volt Frigate wouldn't lock correctly and so whenever the figure was lifted the foot would immediately drop. Not fall off, just drop down. the Volt Lander became like Mazinger z elbow, you need to attach it fully and the right way so it wont drop down
but even with that issue i dont think it will take some of the figure electromagnetic that was me. the bomber got replaced several days later by my supplier

I just went to Frank&Sons last weekend.... Some of the places are asking the moon for chogokin items. Cant blame them because they have to pay Frank and his sons for the rent... lol probably much cheaper to get chogokin online.

Well, you would need to ask prices and see if they are willing to do a deal. Most of the time they wont though. But I've seen that voltes V on display also with $1800 price tag... looks NIB to me.

Meanwhile, GX-100 hit rock bottom just not long ago at around 45000yen (almost half off) and begging for adopters.

Just feel a little bad paying full price and high shipping on GX-100 while it is still unopened in the garage, when it went for 45000yen + 3321yen DHL shipping (at least I had my friend took advantage of that). DX Voltes V is a different beast though (in terms of popularity). Its price never dropped, and the stock ran dry fairly fast within a couple months. Then its aftermarket price just kept going up, reaching astronomical level at this point. Going from "I am sad I paid full price" (GX-100) to "I am glad I paid full price." (DX Voltes V)

(DX Voltes V) That seems to be the case with DX chogokin prices... Thats why gx-100 should have been marketed as a DX chogokin series... I suspect Bandai swapped the GX-100 originally slated as a DX to mark the 100th SOC since there was a daiku GX-05 like the voltes gx-31 and then the DX variant of the Voltes.

to be fair Voltes is waaay more popular than Gaiking
also Gaiking was announced first as a DX SOC then it became an SOC as the GX-100 which i believe took some of its thunder since so far none of the DX's got a reissue, also the "first release bounce" which indicate they might do a reissue didnt help much

IMO even if Bandai labeled Gaiking as a DX, doubt it will sell more. Its all about fanbase, Mazinger and Voltes V are the two most sold Bandai Robots in the Chogokin history.

Grendizer is a funny case, as it seems far more popular outside of Japan than within Japan.

but as you know the DX is a limited run product so most of hard core collectors will want to grab one just because its rarity
i think the GX-71 is very close to these two
Grendizer is a funny case, as it seems far more popular outside of Japan than within Japan.
you know Japanese people dont hate it they just like Mazinger z more

I'm not saying they hate it, but the love for that particular super robot in Europe and the Middle East far exceeds how much it's loved in its own country, same with how mojacko said about Voltes in the Philippines, or the Dino Megazord in the United States. These became iconic in other countries in a way the rest of the family didn't.
