Finally fixed it completely. Neck and leg perfect. And the inside almost... this was my first time disassembling a SOC... all the upper part. It was really hard... I had to little space to work and there were some spring action there... so I used some Chinese chopstick and toothpicks to hold it in place while I glue it. The part was in a moving section so I spend time thinking the best way to glue it, didn't want to glue anything else... I sweated a lot almost five hours (I'm not a genius fixing)... assembling it back was also hard, the clicky joints and the chest area were frustrating to align, must say I was alone, an extra pair of hands would have helped a lot. I have special feelings for this now, since I put a lot of love fixing it (and 15usd, since I bought the best epoxy here and a new screwdriver). I won't sell it but I hope I never have to do this again

I'm thinking about maybe dipping the broken tip of the peg in some hot glue and then cutting/filing it down to correct size. Thoughts? This is the kind of crap that made me not want to collect high-end toys anymore. Toys for children at least have better QC! Personally, I would do what Mpchi recommended, get a new unit while it's on clearance, then ditch the broken one? At the very least you can have both displayed in both modes? Not a bad way to go about it. Great review gold! I fixed half of the damage mine has right out of the box... fixed the neck and the leg. today I'll go further and disassemble the torso to try to glue the inner piece that turns the head (wish me luck). I really love this but I agree is a bit pricey, unfortunately not every R add or modified something for the best, many are just reissues with new color or accessories. Really interesting fact the stolen suit... I'm currently watching the show so ill pay extra attention to the final battle. Thank you Bocasas. Yes, I read about the damaged unit you got. Most probably a used unit? It has way too many damages to be brand new. Sorry to hear about that. But maybe getting the one on sale like Mpchi recommended is the way to go, you can always ditch the broken unit down the road.

It was a brand new unit, PO and shipped at release (I've opened many socs), tape sealed and everything in the box was in pristine condition, even the box (strangely is one the most immaculated box i have, not even one scratch). Seems like I had really bad luck and a case of very very bad qc (or the person that put that figure in the box at the factory hit it really bad, and put it there anyway). Getting one new figure at my country could become really expensive and selling this one really hard. I've always read about people getting broken figures, after more than 10 years i guess it was my turn (I've been.pretty lucky).

Not a bad way to go about it. If it is a QC problem then I'll probably just end up with two broken ones and for what? In an ideal situation, I'd rather just have new pegs machined out of aluminum or something lightweight and durable using the non-broken one as a template but I don't know anything about that stuff.

If you live in a normal country (not a corrupt and third world's like mine), you may try getting an opened one from mandarake (opened means it has been checked and comming from mandarake means near mint condition)

Mandarake has some opened ones as cheap as 8500yen right now. Though their higher shipping may offset Amazon Japan's higher price (but cheap shipping). Though worth finding out. If you get it from Amazon Japan, you can always return it if the 2nd one also has defects.

Another option is "3D printing" the whole fist that has a broken peg, maybe from Shapeways. The only challenge I see is the STL file for the broken fist, how to get one... Either an RJ bro can help model the fist from scratch, or can have the unbroken fist 3d scanned and then "mirror" the 3D model. Just not sure if that will be an exact copy of the broken one, but ideally it should

That's the one good thing about it, the peg is a separate attachment from the fist so you don't have to worry about the aesthetics of it.

Has anyone tried making reproduction replacements for the fist pegs?
