I know the vehicle modes aren’t that great looking. Pretty ugly to be honest. What I do love is the origami like transformation especially the legs and how two totally different vehicles become symmetrical. 😜 As a collector, I’ve always been particular to “Gattai” robots. Come on! Half the fun is transforming our bots! For sure, there's something magical about seeing it all come together, and how the parts change. But I'm too clumsy to risk something like this. Regardless, I'll still have to deal with the legs.

Yup! DHL was pretty quick. 3 days total. Just transformed him now and I didn’t notice any chipping. Well, I was very careful since I am aware beforehand. 😜 I want to say that the chipping would probably be from the thicker paint of some parts if ever. I have the MP-36 Megatron and chipping on that is inevitable because of all the painted moving parts. Anyways, this blows away the CM’s version which I have. I’ll see if I can post some side by side pics with it along with some other SOC bots like another member requested. Wow thank you for all the detailed pics! And thank you for your confirmation that paint chipping was avoidable on your copy! I'm excited to keep mine now!! And yes, it totally blows away the CM's version!! You’re welcome bro!

People were not kidding about how tight the joints and ratchets are on this. Also, mine seems to have a QC issue where the ratchet on the right leg can't fully move inwards and is stuck in a half point.

lAre the ratchets adjustable by taking the legs apart? I never tried doing something like fixing ratchets on my own before. I almost never have the legs straight so it doesn't effect the pose its in but I still find it annoying.

Ratchets that are too tight, tend to be a lot better if you can take it apart and put some grease in it, so the there is some lubrication when the plastic gears rubbing each other. Not sure if this applies, but you can give it a try (given they didn't hide the screws). I fixed some TFs and Diaclones that way, when the stiff ratchets are causing too much tension. Just used some old expired chapsticks I saved for this type of fixes LOL. Works like a charm.

Here’s a side by side with CM’s War Machine down! But on point, this is a definite big upgrade. Only thing I think I'd give the CM is that i prefer the headcrest on it, and maybe the chrome parts.

Here’s a side by side with CM’s I had regret it for years that I never picked up the CM's version. Thank you for giving me closure that this Pose+ release will forever make me forget about missing out on the CM's version.

What a beautiful piece this is. Had mine on dining table displayed for few days to enjoy looking at it. Yes, the legs are tricky I see why Pose+ redirect the buyer to YouTube for instructions. Worth the wait.

Finally opened and put together this bad boy today. It was one of my most anticipated release of the year, and it almost lives up to my expectation. It has a lot of cool thoughtful design and engineering in it. But there are a few things quite off that made the experience a bit frustrating. I'll point out a few things on mine, see if you guys had the same issues with yours: - Shoulder ratchets are WAY too tight. Feels like I am about to rip off the arms while try to turn it. End up dripping a couple drops of oil into the ratchet gears to lubricate them a little, and got better. - Upper arm swivel is also WAY too tight. Have to spin around that swivel joint a bunch of times to wear down the tightness, eventually got better. But needed to work on it for quite a while. - Neck joint is WAY too tight, posing the head almost always dislodge the whole neck and backpack (head is connect to the backpack). - Hip combination with the 2 legs are WAY too tight to fit the first time or two, you need to slam the legs into it so hard, you are at high risk of breaking something, almost crushed one of my side skirt panel by accident. - Right lower leg back panel doesn't close completely, with a gap. The other leg is fine. - Swords are a pain to put onto the 'articulated' hands, took me like 15 mins to get the swords slot into the long tab on the hands to hold securely. Tolerance just too tight that you have to wear down some plastic for the tab to fit. Very similar designs to a bunch of Masterpiece TF hands and the SOC Dancouga hand holding the sword, but never have trouble fitting those like I did with Baldios. You can use the sculpted hands for the swords as alternative, but surprisingly they don't grip on the sword hilts very well, a bit loose and move around a bit. - Right knee with half the ship nose hidden inside, will rub the yellow paint details whenever you bend Baldios' right knee (saw it explained in a review). Have to wrap that nose with a piece of plastic wrap before tugging that nose into the knee when combined. While the other half of the nose with yellow details are on the bottom of that right foot LOL. Just have to be very careful with those. - Rubber sticky on one of the feet bottom is all crooked, have to peel them off and re-apply, otherwise that foot won't sit flush on the ground surface. - Little clearance on the head, with antenna and horns easily rubbed when trying to tug the head into the chest when transform. A lot of guess work whether you are doing it right or not, and no diagrams to confirm since there is no printed instructions this time. Surprisingly, most of the listed issues above have little to do with the actual complex transformation/combination (except the hip). There are just random fitment or tightness issues on this, as if POSE+ didn't really test fit the finish product all that much before shipping them to customers. A neck joint this tight is a first for me LOL, to a point turning the head will cause the backpack to come apart. But with all that said, POSE+ also did a lot of things right. For a vintage look, it is very nice, very clean, and does a TON to replicate the origami combination. Some of the parts that move around and tug away is just genius engineering. And while my copy has a couple of paint scratches, it overall looks great. I do wish the head sculpt is better and more heroic, but the body proportions and articulation really let you pose this figure very well. There are a great amount of ratchets on this figure, so it feels very solid and sturdy to handle when everything comes together. As a combined figure and being this poseable, it has most of the SOCs beat. It also has good weight at around 800g, with quite a bit of diecast in the torso, lower legs, and chunky joints (shoulders, hips, inner waist, ankles, and they are not small, since the figure is a big one). It is a very good release, and likely the best Baldios gokin we'll ever get. Definitely worth a purchase. Just expect to have a bit more tinkering to do going in, whether to loosen some joints, or try to layout some parts a certain way when combining to keep the risk of breaking anything to a minimum. Wish it did better, but still a pretty badass Baldios. His face looks cool in this angle eh? Look carefully, those are not his eyes LOL. The eyes are way up hidden behind the 'Gundam V antenna'

Is the figure still at risk for any type of paint scratching without transforming it, and just posing it in dynamic poses? Also, what type of oil do you use for your chogokins?

Thank you for your detailed review! Good looking out on all the things to watch out for. Is the figure still at risk for any type of paint scratching without transforming it, and just posing it in dynamic poses? Also, what type of oil do you use for your chogokins? If you don't transform much, the figure is perfectly OK from paint scratch. There is the painted yellow detail inside the inner right knee, and the same painted detail under the right foot that you have to be very careful (or put on some protection), but the rest of the figure is fine. I just use a couple drops of cooking olive oil from the kitchen LOL, but normally, I have some non-color old chapstick I saved for adding grease to ratchets. But since those diecast shoulder ratchets are so tight, it was hard to get the grease into the gaps between the gears, so I just went the easy way out and drip some olive oil and they seep right in. Just a couple small drops is enough, you don't want them to drip out and get anywhere else oily, or lubricate the butterfly ratchet next to it (that one is not tight).

Thank you for your detailed review! Good looking out on all the things to watch out for. Is the figure still at risk for any type of paint scratching without transforming it, and just posing it in dynamic poses? Maybe because I rushed it it, but I ended up scuffing the paint a bit when using a spudger to try and pry open one kf the leg cannons for transformation. It just wouldn't budge open at first.

Maybe because I rushed it it, but I ended up scuffing the paint a bit when using a spudger to try and pry open one kf the leg cannons for transformation. It just wouldn't budge open at first. That's the thing about this release. Many areas that shouldn't have been this tight and requires some man handling, yet due to it being just a toy, the paint and material just can't handle being treated that rough, making the initial experience quite awkward and frustrating. It did get better when you play with it more and loosen things up, and a number of reviews repeated that sentiment as well. Hopefully you won't get it all scratched up by the time you get there. I myself won't plan to transform Baldios a whole lot. Just bugs me still is the tight neck joint (even after I added oil to the balljoint), made my backpack panel dislodged too much, that now the backpack/neck lock comes off very easy. Have to press on the backpack every time I pose the head to prevent the backpack coming off. Quite annoying. If they made the antenna and the horns thinner, I may have broken them by now thanks to that stupid tight neck... Other than that, the combined figure is fun to handle and pose.
