This is everything I could've ever hoped for and more. Gotta start saving immediately. This will be my first Sentinel purchase

Ok, its 400usd in the US. But for 300 at HLJ I made my PO. It's the same I payed for the Shin getter at BBTS when it came out. I'd rather pay when it comes out. Have many POs right now.

Yeah, sentinel is good quality and top notch engineering. But it is always a bit overpriced. That being said, I've never regretted buying their stuff.

I'll check some other vendors RE: ther PO pricing and go from there. I'm still unsure if I'm buying this but it's darn good-looking...

Anyone have any thoughts on how the shipping costs for AmiAmi and HLJ compare these days? I haven't really bought anything significant from AmiAmi post-COVID, but they were always more expensive than HLJ - is that still the case now?
I just picked up a Sentinel Mazinkaiser reissue from HLJ and shipping was quite a bit more than the original. EMS was ~$40 for the original and this time it was ~$60 for the reissue so I'm wondering if it's just HLJ or shipping costs have just gone up significantly everywhere (I'm guessing it's probably the latter).

The later for sure. The original release was five years ago, long before even covid and inflation changed shipping prices.

$50-60 EMS/FedEx/DHL for something not big is kind of the norm these days, like a standard Metal Build or mid size SOC box that is not thick. Nin-Nin asked for about $60 FedEx/DHL on Shin Getter Dragon. D4Toys asking for $110 on same shipping method. HLJ shipping might be a bit cheaper, but they also priced the figure a bit higher.

I'll check some other vendors RE: ther PO pricing and go from there. I'm still unsure if I'm buying this but it's darn good-looking... AE (Anime-Export I assume) has very good price most of the time, but they really get you on shipping cost, among the highest over all the major ones we shop. Charged me over $200 to ship a box with a few things that would cost $100 or less if it is from HLJ or Mandarake. Sentinel, Riobot line particularly, is good, even great in some case. You are paying for their good sculpt, articulation and joints engineering, but expect less metal than your average SOC. Their figures are among the best looking on the market IMHO, just that some of the previous older releases may have some issues or flaws (breakable early Dancouga shoulders, Shin Getter 1 mid torso ball joint pops often for some), and occasionally you do get a couple loose joints here and there. They do get better and some of the later releases are very sturdy and tight with metal joints. Just that they priced the figures very high, so became a stigma on getting 'little' metal in return. But their fitment is very precise (praised by many owners of SRX, even though the part-forming was discouraging at first), and their finishes are beautiful and very sharp (they make some of the sharpest pointy parts in the industry). So they are no CM's or Evolution Toys when it comes to execution. Since this Shin Getter Dragon is based on some Shin Getter 1 parts (not that problematic torso), but most likely drastically improved upon. It is a safer bet that this one is going to be very solid, not some brand new venture or combiner that they are experimenting. Just compare this sculpt with any Getter Dragon or Dragon styled figures or gokin we saw or own and had considered the best, the sculpt speaks for itself.

I think the best way to describe Sentinel is going to a fancy restaurant, you know you are overpaying but you know you will enjoy it...

i dont own any Riobots but i will give you my opinion based on feedback from friends who owns some
as the guys told you they are way overpriced overall for example this figure is 21cm with low diecast but the asking price is crazy if you compare it to bigger figures with ton of diecast, also sometimes you get some awful QC here and there
worth to mention you get great articulation and cool designs (some times) i guess its based on which team in charge and personal preference

You can even see the Poseidon heads replacing its hands.

I didn't buy riobot shin or mazinkaiser. Usually I stay away from stylized mecha that aren't manga or anime accurate, but the SRW attacks won me over here and I ordered from d4 today. Even if we ever got another daikessen dragon from another company or lineart accurate it would probably only come with the tomahawk. I still think it's a shame that one Shin Dragon with daikessen parts didn't come out though.
