Im waiting for one manufacturer to just be able to link all those lights together so I could just plug in or have some type of wireless charging... I would like to spend posing the figures than juggling flea size batteries...lol

mine just arrived
its cool and all, and i love the accessories, but its suffering from "Mazinger Effect" you know when you a new Mazinger z figure then follow it by a Great Mazinger figure you feel its about the same just tiny changes and all the wow factor is gone thanks to Mazinger ? this is the exact case in here
from first impression i really like it and i think its a good figure overall but sadly they didnt improve on the things i mentioned in my regular Shin Getter 1, its very nice to have but you dont really NEED it
this opinion might change after i do a the full review
short clip i did
a comparison with the regular Shin Getter 1

That's fast! I don't even know when mine will be shipped. That comparison photo cracks me up when you look at their faces: Black Shin Getter 1: "Check out how cool I am!" Shin Getter 1: "Wha...what are you looking at?!"

Mine is on the way. Think I may sell off the red Shin Getter in the future and pick up either the Bandai MB or another company, just for more variation.

You can go for a shorter review, mainly highlight the differences rather than a full coverage, since you already did that on the red.

its actually a bit easier to do a full review for something than doing a review for a repainted figure lol
im taking my time with it to be honest i want to do other robots than Getters

Had a little discovery on Black Shin (probably applies to red as well). I realized I didn't need to remove the chest plate to turn on the LED lights on chest and head. Just bend the chest forward all the way, the lower torso would automatically hit the light button inside and turn on/off. Look more like an intentional design than coincident, though not mentioned in the instructions. Got my Black Shin 1 from ShowZ. Got to give them props packaging very well, shipping box with plastic corner protectors, then plastic wrap on top. But you would think that means a pristine box on arrival? Noooooooo. Whoever handled my package seem to have a field day tossing it around. Among the 8 corner protectors, I think only 1 is not broken. All the rest are either shattered to bits, or cracked up almost in half. So the toy box still got a few sides dented and bruised, and the artwork paper sleeve inside still suffer some damage from all those protection. But those corner protectors gave it their all, may they rest in pieces... Then comes the intervention of my toy curse. Majority of Black Shin is great (no LED malfunction), but the right hip joint is not assembled correctly. It has a couple degree of wobble on the metal, as if the screws were not tight inside or the parts inside is a bit off. Another incident where I really wish I can access the screws, but no dice. Another casualty from my curse...This also resulting the right leg a bit looser than the left, but good enough. Right shoulder also on the looser side. The rest of the joints are very tight. Overall, I really like this Black Shin. The actual paint is not as shiny as the photos. More like a semi-gloss coating with metallic flakes on top of black plastic. Very similar to Zero's. But the several shades of blacks and silvers make it very nice looking, without much of the "cracked eggshell" effect on the red Shin. Look-wise, its top notch, maybe the waist could be a tad thicker. New head sculpt is awesome, though the thin ear spikes sit really close to the PVC scarf at the tips. Have to be really careful not to let them touch the scarf damaging those spikes when you turn the head. Scarf also not super secure around the neck. It has a front tab, but the rest rely on gravity. Being PVC means its a bit squishy, and can wiggle loose if you are man handling the figure. Wings are also PVC, but on the slightly harder side, probably to prevent breakage on the pointy parts. Wing span is like 25 inches long! Ankle joint design I am not particularly fond of. The feet rocker rotation is cut at an angle (remember Revoltech figure?). So while it works fine to get good ground contact on A-stance, you always have to look at the joint orientation to try not to twist it the wrong way. The elbow joint design is also not great. It got range, but totally neglected the look of the joint when you bend the lower arms all the way (Shin's elbow looks dislocated). Something need to get used to. And the smaller arm blades (same ones as red Shin) somehow much harder to put on compare to the oversized new gauntlets (they are very fun to mess with, but do look way too big on the figure), some fitment issue there. Last thing I am worry about is the clear plastic used for tabs and wrist connections. After having 2 Zero heads broken on me on the clear plastic neck socket, the clear plastic just not strong enough to take any stress long term. Hopefully these tabs won't break some time down the road. Though the green clear plastic and sculpted details in this figure is really well done. Chef's kiss! Bad luck aside, this Black Shin is a great release, and a lot bang for the buck. Minor not great design choices, but they are few, and the good far outweighs the bad. Go get one, if this look speaks to you. For sure I like it a lot more than the red one, and the stuff they added here really brings it home. Those weapons it came with set a new standard of creativity and playability. Highly recommended. Look at the carnage....as if Black Shin Getter destroyed all those corner protectors himself.
