WARNING!! Casualty report! Guys, make sure you don't have your Black Shin Getter sculpted hands (all the non-poseable finger hands) on display for too long. Apparantly, the clear green plastic in the hand/wrist are as weak as the Zero clear yellow plastic neck joint (broken twice, even on a replacement head), and easily cracked on its own just due to pressure. One of mine just cracked after displayed holding the chain axe for a couple weeks, saw the axe got droopy, and realized the hand is very loose. You can see the green clear plastic at the connection is all fractured. And I did notice all the sculpted hands do fit tighter on the wrist peg than the articulated finger hands. Now I am even more worried on the clear green wrist peg on the arm... at least I got extra hands, but not those wrist pegs. *Update* Both hands are cracked, not just one.... Its cant hold the axe for longer time ? Im check mine Bc im not display yet its still fine For the head you mean this side tendency for crack ?

For the head you mean this side tendency for crack ? The Black Shin Getter head should be fine. I was referring to the hands have similar design flaw as Mazinger Zero's neck, both using rim/socket shape clear plastic as connection point that has pressure apply to them, and the thin rim plastic just can't take much over time and cracks. Clear plastic just not strong enough for these kind of usage, as you can see in my cases, they don't just crack once with a hairline crack, they fracture to pieces, like crushed hard candy. I now put back the poseable finger hands on. They don't fit as tightly as the others (and no cracks yet), and leave them on as my default hands. Hopefully no future damage to them nor the wrist peg (which is also green clear plastic lol). I still love CCSToys stuff, but hopefully this is the last of the same problem, and Great Mazinkaiser better not have the same darn clear plastic joints!

I think the qc and some of the materials need to improve as I hope these issues don't become reason why people start shying away from the brand...

i think its not a QC its a design flaw

The mace-grip hands on mine are a very tight fit. I can see how the weight of the mace handles could crack the fragile clear plastic over time. I may eventually enlarge the opening with a drill bit or something. All the other hands are fine, but the trigger hands grip the weapons VERY tight, which makes me nervous. I'll just have to be really careful wiggling them in & out.
On a positive note, I definitely dodged this QC bullet:
But I'm pretty sure you can remedy that by inserting some paper or blue tack into the hand.

Thanks for the notice. I've removed the axe from my Shin Getter as a precaution.

I think it probably has to do with expansion, the more I think about it. Either the clear peg or the cuff on the fist expands & something's gotta give. Well, the prevention is the same: Don't leave the sculpted hands on for long periods. Only the articulated hands.

Dang, I should have just gone with showzstore on this - just got a look at the shipping rates from HLJ, and the cheapest is EMS at >13K yen.

Yeah, CCSToys boxes are quite big. Pretty much a styrofoam crate in a brown box, about twice as thick as a bigger size SOC combiner box.

I see the same guy's video has been posted but made a full comparison video between Shin 1 & Black Shin 1 seems mostly influenced by the Recent Arc Anime with it's color Scheme
Note : he does mentioned or rather show a few QC flaws in the video

Hey guys, noticed another design issue on Black Shin 1 (probably applies to red Shin 1 as well). If you have the wings attached and displayed for a long time, the connection peg hole on the wings will get loose. The diecast joints and pegs are fine on the backpack, but I think due to the wings being PVC (softer material), its weight weighing on the diecast peg eventually stretches the peg hole bigger. I have mine displayed with the wings on for about a month or so, and noticed today the wing hole swivels rather loosely on both sides (they were very tight when I put them on brand new). So another heads up on our Shin...turning out into quite a delicate fella.
I guess that is one main flaw on CCSToys stuff. They often overlook the material tolerance on connection points. FYI.

Since joints are issues, Im wondering what would happen after a few years as the PVC ages out? Hopefully, it would not harden out and crack...

Since joints are issues, Im wondering what would happen after a few years as the PVC ages out? Hopefully, it would not harden out and crack... Hard to tell. Even though they are generally categorized as PVC, don't really know the exact mixture they used (not that I understand even if they tell me exactly). Most PVC parts can stand the test of time (most of our SOC hands). Some didn't and get sticky, oily, or has 'mold' develop on it. The worst are the ones that dried up and crumpled or disintegrated. But when it comes to the wings of this Shin 1, it can be an easy fix either give it some heat (hot water or blow dryer) on the peg hole area and it may return to its original shape, or add more friction inside the peg hole (cling wrap, nail polish, or thin layer of super glue) and make it tight again. Even if it cracks, PVC sticks very well with super glue, so it may not be a total lost cause if that happens. In the meantime, I just put the wings back into the box, see if the peg hole retains its original tightness on its own after some months later without the diecast peg pressing against it. But kind of sucks when this release excels in accessories and weaponry, yet they lead to the breakage or looseness issues as long as you display them for longer period of time. I mean you can try them on briefly for photos and put them back in the box, but I am not much of a photo guy. I look at the toy in person and want to display and handle it, not just brief minutes for a photo shoot. It is one big gripe I have on this CCSToys Shin 1. But with all that said, it is still hard not to like this guy, flaws, oversized gauntlets and all.

yeah he is pretty hefty. One thing though I wish more of these figures do is to incorporate a connection for the led lights... its pretty stupid to keep replacing those batteries when you can light them up with a continuous power source.... that being said, he is still a bit shorter than the dangard....
