Because the whole world is biased towards Sentinel, except you.
you are an evil person
trust me in my circle of people there is alot who agree with me regarding Riobot's been overpriced for what we are getting, in matter of fact some are members in here as well but they dont talk about this because they dont like to get involve in destructive conversation and been called names
me on the other hand i dont mind saying what i think regardless what others will think at the end of the day we are talking about figures

Will this be Bandai's be all end all for Orguss? Or do you guys think there will eventually be a DX Chogokin version or SOC of it later down the line?

Hard to say, but aside from Macross, which has 2 active lines by Bandai (DX Chogokin + HMR), none of the other HMR releases have new SOC figures. There is an older Xabungle SOC. Layzner, L-Gaim, and Dragonar had older figures in Tamashii SPEC. Never say never, but it could be a long wait. Luckily there are a lot of quality companies now, so we don't have to only wait on Bandai to come out with something better than HMR. The Megahouse Variable Action Hi-Spec figure from 2015 is already top notch in my opinion, and I'm very happy with that as my premium Orguss fig.

The Orguss anime storyline is not great. I'm about 35-40% through and it is boring. But the Orgroid mecha itself is cool. As a kid, I had the Orgroid and Gerwalk Nikick knock off toys from the Convertors toy line from the mid 80's. So it is somewhat sentimental for me. I'll have to acquire a vintage Takatoku 1/40 scale someday.
I noticed the PO at Amiami sold out last night. But when I woke up this morning, its open again. So I preordered. Will be cool to finally add a modern chogokin of Orguss in my collection. And this will be my first Hi-Metal figure from Bandai for any of their lines.

Yeah, in my estimation it's easily the weakest of the three Super Dimension series. I dig some of the mech designs, and the intro and outro music by Casey Rankin, but elsewise it struck me as pretty dull and poorly put together.

I managed to survive and finished the 1st Orguss anime. It was slow and weird but it was nostalgic so I managed to finish it. The 2nd season was a bit modern and story wise was different but also interesting. I honestly forgot the plot but the mecha was ok. I still prefer the original mecha.

FWIW, I will be the first to admit that I don't watch most of the anime series featuring our beloved super robots and mecha. Is that blasphemic?

...may explain why I don't go raging if something is not 'anime'-accurate.

Probably an advantage to be able to enjoy a design without spending time on a lackluster story. Although, my wallet is no doubt thankful of the fact that I tend to lose interest in designs featured in uninspired media.

But I admit to fleeting moments of rage when a modern toy of a property I like is stylized in some newfangled way that is neither anime or oldschool. :D

The only 'modern' rendition of a robot I would've raged on are the Bayformers...lips on Prime is just all sorts of awful. Starscream looking like a mechanical chicken...Bumblebee looks like he's sucking on a pacifier...crap like that, I'll rage a bit.

The Infinity rendition of Mazinger, Grendizer, Shin Getter, Mazinkaiser are passable to my liking! Thou some swear on them. However the new design of Voltes V from the Live adaptation are somewhat split into a bayformers and infinity rendition. Thou Im gonna let it pass just because Im a BIG VOltes V fan!
