Theres nothing like opening up your first SOC, even after you read all the reviews and hear everyones opinions. When you actually have the thing in your hands and you look over all the little details you are shocked and surprised just how good they are. In a way you can say that you actually fall in love with SOC's .

Totally agree with you Chen. I bought my first SoC pretty much by accident. I was actually wanting to buy the 12" Jin Roh doll by Medicom, but I thought that was too expensive and I only had $100 on me and the owner wanted $160. I was thinking, no way will I spend $160 on a toy! I then asked him what I could get for $100 and he let me pick between SoC Maz Black or SoC Getter Dragon. I wasn't that familiar with Dragon, so I decided to get Maz Black (plus, he was a 'special edition' the toy shop owner explained) cos I thought I had read a positive review on it somewhere on the Internet (it actually turned out to be Collectiondx.com's take on Grendizer Black).
I brought it home, and didn't like it too much at first. I didn't like how the hands fell off the gattling gun gimmick and thought it wasn't very poseable and it looked out of place beside Masterpiece Convoy and MMM Gundam (which I got as gifts). I wondered why the heck did I spend $100 on a TOY, but it slowly grew on me.
I bought the Jin Roh doll two days later or something ridiculous like that and promised my wife I would cut down. One toy every two months, some ridiculous promise like that. A week later, I bought $30 in Microman. Then it was onto Ebay. The rest, as they say, is history.

I love it, but my wife does not share my love. My conscience bugs me too... too expensive!

I bought a vintage Zoids lot off YJ early this year and it cost about $1200. I got it here and sold/traded off the pieces that I didn't want individually over time and still made money on the deal. My wife is ok with it now. j*ryu I love it, but my wife does not share my love. My conscience bugs me too... too expensive!
