close-up... great color, closer to anime (than soc eva)... i wonder if this line will also do red and blue EVA if that happens, what are we going to do with the soc EVAs?

At only 5.5", it's too expensive! If you remember the Metal Hyaku-Shike was 6" and it cost less! Nice weaponry, tho! hi niko, yeah soc spec Layzner will be 1/72 scale. only 14 cm or 5.6 inches. too small

I think that's just a new toy to accompany a currently running show. Nicely detailed even if it is a complete unashamed E7 rip off.

Then again, after seeing the picture goldorak posted... The SOC Spec EVA-01 is awesome! Any idea how big this thing is going to be?!

It'd be REALLY nice if they included the bandaged head that appeared in the anime.

It looks like there will be parts swapping for the hands, feet, chest and head... so I hope they include a damaged head version, and a regenerating arm like in the anime.
I'm also interested to see how posable the torso and waist joints are going to be.... looking at the pics, it looks to have no joints there, unless they're covered in rubber. The SOC Evas had awesome posability in that department.

The SOC Spec EVA-01 is taller than the original SOC EVA-01, but the original SOC-EVA-01 looks more buff!

whoo! it looks great! it is similar in concept to the saint seyia stuff where we attach the armor parts. i just hope that unlike saint seyia there are no problems with loose armor bits that donĀ“t stay in place. the leg and hip armor being the most problematic. hard to tell where is the diecast due to the colour scheme they chose wich i think it is great by the way! and the abdominal parts contract and everything a bit like godannar! it seems to have 3 levels wich can be seen on the stripped figure.

I don't know about Layzner, just looks like a lazy attempt by Bandai (pun intended - layz). At least the Spec Eva 01 seems to have soul (literally) with its external armor and internal organic body. This one has what, a sound effects base? We've been saturated recently with Layzner toys so it just doesn't seem fresh.... Too Gundam like. The same reason I'm not too excited about Ideon also... just has been executed before in some way or another.
