The right hip on my SPEC Eva just fell apart while I was reposing it... I've seen alot of people with it broken, but this looks like a different break on the same spot. I took the rubbery hip bit off, and it looks like the lateral joint on the hip basically just split apart along the screw collar that holds it together... def. looks like a weakened joint waiting to break rather then my rough handling (which I've made sure not to do.) Is there any good way for me as a stateside consumer to talk to Bandai about an SoC toy? I want this replaced as it looks like a poorly built part, and don't want to have to try and fix it myself... all in all I'm really not happy with the build and durability and feel of this figure, even if it IS incredibly detailed and amazingly articulated. Same exact thing just happened to mine. I loved this figure up untill the very point the hip came apart in my hands, that being said its not without its faults. As a UK consumer I too would like to know if I'd be able to get this part replaced, however it seems such a common fault that it is just as likely to affect the replacement part. I'm really disappointed. Yours AK

I saw the preorders and wanted to get one, but all this jointed breakage forces me to pass these (unfortunately)

I really just don't see why the whole internal frame isn't gokin... I mean, it IS sitll under the SoC label, and the plastic body is a piece of crap.

I'm inclined to agree, it is a very detailed figure with lots of articulation and so on but the week joints in the hips possibly due to a lack of die-cast has turned me off this line. I may buy the 'Berserk' version of Eva 01 (is that what they are calling movie version at HLJ?) just so I have a working naked eva body to go with my broken one but after that I don't plan to buy anymore Spec figures. Yours AK

HLJ shipped me a replacement set of legs for my SPEC Eva and did the same for someone else I know...
The Movie versions are for the upcoming Rebuild of Eva movies (Eva 00 and 01 with their new paint schemes)... the Berserk version is with the angry head and the Eva's core exposed and the fleshy arm...

i've seen a photo of the movie specs for eva, the 01 just has a few extra splashes of green on him, on the head and on the waist and the part on the shoulder that says eva 1 no longer says eva 1, it's just painted on the edge of the black area where eva 1 used to be. and 00 looks to be all white, unless that was a prototype, but it didn't state that 00 was a prototype and it looked painted, and next them was a prototype of angel number 3, in scale with the spec line but of a different line and just out of frame you sould see what looked to be a tentical of another angel, looked like number 4.

i have a question, i really want to get this spec eva, but from what i've heard about the hip joint breaking, is it worth the 75 bucks? and is the replacement hip stronger than the broken one?

75 dollars is overpriced for the toy anyways... you can get it from HLJ for around $45... and no, the replacement hip is not going to be any stronger a all HLJ did was take the legs off another SPEC Eva in their stock and send them to me.
Movie Eva 00 isn't white, it's funky yellow and light grey and looks weird...

yea thats the movie eva i was talking about, maybe the 00 unit standing next to it was just a unpainted prototype, but it was all white, but i've seen the revoltech version of the movie 00 with the orange and white on it, looks kind of strange. i dunno on this version, the green might be over done, but man it still looks awesome. and i was talking about 75 dollars with shipping, thats how much it would cost total from HLJ. i dunno, i want the masterpiece megatron, vf 0A macross, the stealth 1/48 scale macross, and this eva, i'm leaning towards the eva as it's the cheapest but i don't want to pick up a defective figure.

Does anyone here think there's a chance Bandai will ever make a mass-produced eva with articulated/optional wings? Either for Spec or SOC?

An EVA mass production model for the original SOC line would be SWEET. If I'm not mistaken, it's the only one missing from the line.
