Voodoo head or not, for fans of DA this is an amazing rendition. I am anticipating the arrival of my Metallic Version from Japan. I cannot wait to display him with my vintage DA!

OK, so it seems the problem here is that there is a discrepency in size in the animation itself where it's larger in episodes and smaller in the end credits. Interesting. Yamato should have included two different heads to appease both sides.
Personally I don't mind the size of the head, even though I will agree that it looks disproportionately small. For some reason it doesn't bother me. I just need to decide if I want the regular version or pay more for the metallic version...

Great review as usual Gold!!!
I think the problem is people have been waiting so long for a nice Danguard figure that expectations were higher than possible for any company to overcome, even a SOC version would have critics. But in the end beggers can't be choosers and the prospect of any other company making a Danguard figure is slim so you have to weigh the choice between living with it's "deficiencies" or just give up the dream of owning a high quality Danguard figure.

Anyways all this Danguard talk has got me wanting to watch my dvds of the original Japanese version!
And by the way the second season opening shows Danguard with a proper sized head lol. And that "five-o clock shadow" was just a way for the animators to show definition in the face since it was just suppose to be all silver.

Yamato's Danguard Ace is by no mean perfect, but I think it has its charm. I am pretty sure I want one, just not sure which version.

The head looks small to me.... I agree with Omni Existence and CHEN, to date this is the best rendition of Danguard Ace and fans will have the chance to get one after many years. We'll of course at the end of it all, to each his own.

Got it this morning. I think it's pretty darn fantastic. The head is a little too small, but it's hardly noticable with the helmet on. I've had no problem with the arrows staying attached to the legs, you just need to push them to the center after setting them on so it grips. It's very solid when fully transformed either way. I'm quite pleased.

Here's a little computer magic to what I think the head size should be. I just enlarged it around 50%. New on left, old on right.

I don't know, Chen. Maybe I am just used to seeing this in all the pics that have been posted, but I think I like the smaller head.

I don't know, the larger head in that doctored photo looks too large to me, even though it is more proportionate to the rest of the bot. I still think Yamato should have included two heads.

The only thing I have a problem with in this pic is that he seems to have tiny arms. I think the more accurate word is "short" arms. What makes it look short (at least for me), is that DA's arm design didn't include a mid-section or what we can call the "bicep." But then again, there's that whole inconsistency when it comes to anime proportions.

How come no one has reviewed the toy here yet? That's because nobody in RJ has it yet. Everything is a link from some other place. If I see it at Frank & Son on Saturday, I'll nab it....hopefully a metallic version For the SoCal boys, no sign of Danguard yet as of Saturday @ Frank & Son I did get Encore Metroplex ($75) and Encore Skywarp/TC 2-pk ($60) though ;D

Well, i tried the password for the Papercraft hangar and it seemed to work upon downloading twice. Anywho, the site is www.yamato-toys.com/download/danguarda/The password on mine is masshigura. Just click on the red tab found at the bottom of the page, then enter the password, then click on the red tab again to download the 20MB Adobe PDF file. There are 10 pages to download, with the 10 page being a paper cut out mask of Captain Mask's, er, mask. ;D I'd like to know though if the password is universal for all the inserts or if it varies per unit. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Gold
