There were some news (with photograph) that mentioned the Max Mazinkaiser is scheduled for reissue in September 2008. I just can't remember which thread it was... so mazinkaiser is due for reissue this year. can wait for the reissue. the price of mazinkaiser in the market is way over what i can afford. so this is a welcome news for me.

Well I got back from anime expo last night and I got to handle Yamato's Danguard Ace at Overdrive Inc's booth and here's some of my thoughts. Wow this thing is heavy with diecast one the whole lower legs, chest, and maybe part of the waist. The the joints seemed pretty tight with nice clicky ratchets joints all over the toy (knees, shoulders, elbows, but none at the hips. I didn't transform the guy, but man as a stand alone robot he's pretty cool. Definitely an awesome purchase for a Danguard Ace fan.

Good to hear that he's got lots of diecast and clicky ratchet joints. I just thought that as masters of transforming mechs, Yamato should not be having problems in making it perfect transforming.

moleman: Forgot to ask you something, bro. How is the finishing on the sample that you handled? Is the paint glossy, metallic or matt? Is the paintjob sloppy or tidy?

On the diecast parts there was a nice glossy finish, while on the plastic was a matte finish. Paint application to my eyes was clean and no over sprays or slop. I took a picture and posted it on Toybox DX's forums as I'm not too sure how to post a picture here.

Ok that link's not going to work, but you can check out the forums there in the modern toy BBS and mine is the last post in the Yamato Danguard Ace.

I myself are now convinced and already decided to get the yamato da. thanks again bro moleman

I don't mind replacement parts, and looking at the pics makes this toy grow on you. I'm one to wait for a SOC version, but I've been waiting for a DA toy for quite a while, and if Bandai doesn't step up, I'm probably getting this!
