The only thing that would be cooler is if the Tetsujin opened like the old DX one. Of course that would probably impact how poseable it was in the end though. Both of these turned out much better than I expected.
;D

You know this is where I think the SOC line excels at. Yeah they can make complex robots that transform and stuff but their strengths are in making your straight forward figures that just ooze quality.

Since I am so impressed by these two SOCs, can anyone point me to or give me quick review of the previous versions? I never picked them up when they came out, but I am considering it now.
Thanks.

I just sent Andy (Betatoys.com) and e-mail and pre-ordered the GX-44S set from him for $131.00 USD with shipping included (in the USA). Of course, that is with the now famous Robot-Japan Member exclusive discount. }D Andy won't give discount on the GX-44S, so it is $130 at betatoys.com. I am going with BBTS, which has it for $129.99. BBTS gets new releases quicker than betatoys and changes my credit card only when the item is ready to ship.

Thanks for the pics. Its really looking great. One minor complaint - I just wish the head had the same metallic metal paint as the body, but that is probably not practical.

I wonder if they could have cast the head in metal, it's not super-detailed so it may have turned out fine. Then it could have had the same metallic finish as the rest.
I'm really looking forward to T28. Not sure if I'll get Ox though. He looks really cool but he doesn't grab me in the same way.

there's just something about the simplicity and proportions of this version of tetsujin that make it look fantastic! cant wait to get one. the lack of gimmicks and transfomation is most likely the biggest reason for the very nice pricepoint on him. if the diorama figures are included in the set, this could be one of the best bang-for-the-buck soc's to date! for me at least:) this is solid proof that you can have an awesome soc even with minimal gimmicks.

By chance it's made of die-cast because it looks like a $10 toy...
