There's some cool pics of the Aoshima/Toynami Alpha's and Beta's over at TBDX from gingaio in their combined form. Where exactly?

1/15 scale is pretty damn small right? About half the size of the Gakken toys?

1/15 scale is pretty damn small right? About half the size of the Gakken toys? Yeah, wasn't the old Gakken one like 1/6 or 1/8 scale? I can't remember since I sold mine but I think it was about eight inches tall so these guys are only going to be around 4-5 inches at the most.

Wow! Thanks for posting those pics. Those cyclones look sweet. Hopefully, the little Annie figure will come with Rand and his cyclone. I wish they were bigger, but hopefully smaller will equal more affordable.

As of right now there's like three or four companies making Mospeada stuff but I have a feeling that right now Aoshima/Toynami has the lead in actually going past the prototype stage and into full production.

Hi All!
I just saw this thread and saw how cool those cyclones are from megahouse. Any news when these are coming out and what scale they will be?

i've been following you, man. i've been following the Aoshima release news as it comes down the pike. My concerns when comparing the Toynami and this new version: 1 - my big problem with this figure was the chest and knee joints, as they were super floppy, and i have heard nothing on this being improved on the newer release. This is what in the end made me sell this toy- the diecast chest was too heavy and would weigh the telescoping waist down, and the kneecaps were weak when in robot mode. So, you'd have him on your shelf, and within a few hours he would either fall over or be shrunked into "midget-mode" when the chest folded back in and the kneee joints gave in. The prototypes look like they didnt fix this at all. 2 - in Robot mode the cockpit/nose couldn't completely fold into proper position due to a fragile back panel. this panel is easily broken, and to make it worse the panel *looks* like it can fold up and down to allow proper cockpit position. but it doesnt so when you apply even the slightest of force it cracks completely off. and Robot mode looks like its not properly transformed unless this panel is removed/broken. this was a big bummer. 3- the paint was trash and would rub off the metal pieces with the slightest contact. The areas where the rub was the worst looks like its protected by the new undermissile launchers in robot mode, and i can totally see Aoshima fixing this issue. But still, if you're a c-10 MIB type of guy (i do not mind a little "battle damage" myself) you should really think about this. 4- scale - Toynami's was listed as 1/55 if i remember right. These are listed as 1/48. This would make the pilot the same size (roughly) as the Yamato Valks. I have not heard of a size increase on this piece so whats the dealy o?? i am hopefull that Aoshima will fix these issues, but i don't know, i canceled my preorder for the Aoshimas. Waiting for CMs version. again, i *highly* advise that if you are even *considering* getting the Aoshimas or CMs, or you are not happy with your Toynami Alphas in even the slightest way, that you dump those Toynami Alphas on eBay right now. Right now on average they are selling for double the original retail price, so you can get your hard earned cash plus some extra $$ to pay for the Aoshimas or CMs. I guarentee that when the Aoshimas hit, the Toynami price will drop from roughly $125-150+ each to $40 or less each, and you will have a hard time getting rid of the Toynamis from then on. dunno about how you will do but i got $200+ for my MISB Scott Alpha, and $150+ for my opened and heavily worn/damaged Alpha- I paid around $90 for both of them when they were on clearance at retail. yea.. if you have the toynamis alphas you should sell it right now. i was able to sell all my alpha off but not with the $150 price tag. for me beacause i opened, play with and stickers applied and i only got like $70 each. I remember paying $35 to $50 for each of them. I really do not understand why ppl are buying these toynami alphas for such a high price. Don't they know that Aoshimas and CMs will come out with better one soon. even if Aoshimas and CMs never make an alpha the QC problems of toynami are so bad that they are not worth keeping. and if Toynami ever comes out with a beta i am sure they will reissue all the alphas again.

So yeah, following up on the Aoshima story... I was listenning to the latest podcasts from Space Station Liberty and Tommy Yune, the current Robotech manager at Harmony Gold, called in to chat. He was very open with the fact that the Aoshima Legioss will be available soon (confirming that it will be a slightly tweaked version of the Alpha toys) and also shockingly admitted that the retooled version was likely to be available in North America a few months afterwards!!

Masterpiece Collection ... Master-Falls-To-Pieces Semi-Collection

Yes you are right maybe ill wait untill AOSHIMA makes the betas and regarding that the betas are only to fit the new alphas there is allways room for modifications
