Awesome. What would be the potential repaints for that one? Not sure about the blue...

Awesome. What would be the potential repaints for that one? Not sure about the blue... IIRC, there were only 2 incarnations of the 21 after Plus. It's Max and Milia's VF-22S. Max's colors are basically blue (a little lighter than the current color used on the 21), with white stripes instead of yellow. Milia's is red with white stripes as well. www.steelfalcon.com/Macross/vf22.shtmlEdit In: BTW, dunno if these have been posted already, but here are more pics of the 21 from World Hobby Festival (Pics courtesy of TokyoHunter). The link for the Flickr site was from MW, but I saved the images because the link had too many pics of women (figures) in very compromising poses. It looks sweet! Fighter mode especially!

My my my!
The 21 looks far and I mean F-A-R better than the 19! I love how the arms are completely hidden this time, and all the little details like the landing gear, the jointed wrist, and the cockpit rotating in Battroid mode. Also love the accessories, especially the Gunpods!
Now, if the 21 comes with NO reported problems (like the SV-51 Nora), then even if it hits the 180-200USD mark, I wouldn't think twice of dishing it out!
I think the 19 should get that "I suck" title that the 1/72 scale 21 had from years back, LOL! ;D
BTW, I hope the rear landing gear stowing area has more details than what we have in that pic.

So where's the cheapest place to order one? Can't seem to be able to find for cheaper than $246 shipped to Canada...

The YF-21 looks great. What did you not like about the 19? I've been debating about whether to get one. Mainly nitpicking for my part. First- The mono-boob on the 19 doesn't have any locking mechanisms to keep it affixed when in robot mode. As far as reports go, the tension between the parts is enough to hold it in place in play, but some of us like the parts to be secured in a specific mode. Second- The sliding hinge that connects the booster to the chest and fuselage still detaches itself now and then. I understand from Graham (at least when I last read it) that you can always put it back without issue, but then again, WHY should I have to do that? Maybe if I come across someone selling their 19, that's the only time I'll get one. For now, the 21 looks like the better Valk.

Thanks for the reply. What's a good price for the 19 at this time?

Not really sure, but for me, I'm looking for one that's being sold around for approximately $135.00 only. I can dish up to $150.00 if it comes with the Fold Booster, but not anything higher. Even if it was already opened, and transformed, as long as it'd got no cracks, or damages, I'm fine with it.

Looks like the price is going up again since the stock for the reissue is disappearing now. And while you'll get one used at cheaper price, its more likely a first released one that people are getting rid of while getting a 2nd reissue replacement (with fixes).

Nice review by Graham of this bird. Really makes me want one now. Just wish it weren't so pricey.

I dunno about being a "paid" employee by Yamato, but as far as his reviews go, they're about 80-90% spot on as what the buyers get. In the 21's case, there have already been a number of purchases by MW members but so far I've only read two very minor problems: - the tab that holds the torso in place in robot mode pops off every now and then (although some members also explained that it was simply not attached properly) - and one of the rear landing gears collapsing if you roll it in fighter mode. but so far, a large percent of the purchases made were perfect. They're actually dubbing the YF-21 as the best Yamato Valk-EVER. Still too expensive for me though. Just saw the pricetag from my regular supplier... it's priced at PhP9,900 or approximately US$230!!! I hope the prices go down a bit when the next batches are shipped.

More recent threads have outlined the fact that it's the most obnoxious thing to transform ever, and that there are stress marks and break potential in numerous places due to how fiddly and tight it is. While it may be QC free, it's definitely not user friendly.
Irregardless, I just never really liked the look of the battroid all that much. I was always a YF-19 fan.
