Might consider buying the YF-19 with this news. Must complete the pair, but will wait till it is out. Hopefully it is does not have any QC issues (wishful thinking).

I hope the bot mode for this one looks good. I was disappointed with the look of the 1/72 scale one.

Great news! The CAD drawing still looks a tad fat around the corners, and the wings still look stubby. But like Otaru, I might consider getting the 19 just because the 21 is coming out... here's wishing they shell out the VF-11 as well.

For some reason I'm not finding the appeal of these Macross + 1/60 Valks. I still like the 1/72's better despite its shabby engineering & various QC problems. Its got decent sculpting and tons of die-casts and my favorite notion of keeping it is that it doesn't require me to spend additional $$$. ;D Oh my gosh, now I know how a "chunky-monkey" lover feels like

no broken leg problem yet on VF-11b. sigh... My VF-11B stayed in it's box for gawd knows how long ever since that broken leg scare of 2003. Then one time last Jan 2007, I felt a sickening urge to take it out, and transform it for old times sake. Wrong move. No warning.... ...SNAP!!!!! Dammit!

Yeah, I have a hard time standing them up at times but they take up a place in my heart that I find difficult to substitute. I feel the same about when Yamato decided to release the valks in larger form. Call me old skool, but I like my toys better with a helluva lotta zinc!

This pic was sent to me by Otaru. Not clear where the source was, but I'm happy to post it here. The 21 looks a little chunky around the center, the legs look stubby, and the feet are too small. Still going to wait for the prototypes though. This is one of my favorite Valk designs. ;D **If anyone knows where the pic was from, please let me know so I can give the appropriate props.

It's a great commercial. Reminds me a lot of those 80's toy commercials for G.I. Joes, Transformers, TNMT, etc. Sigh... those were the days! Ahem! Back on topic though... I really love the 21's design, and any Macross design for that matter, but what's actually keeping me away is the fricken price tag! SV-51's here in PI cost approximately PhP10,600 or about US$250.00 a piece. It's a looooooooong ways from the US$116.00 1/48's from a couple years back. I love Macross toys and all, but Yamato's prices really leaves less to be desired.

Cool!
The 21 certainly does not "suck" anymore!
It's great that Yamato was able to hide the shoulders, at the same time making all the overall proportions in all modes look perfect!
Unfortuntately, at JpY22,890 (or roughly PhP10,000 or US$200), with what looks like nothing more than a display base/stand, it's again too expensive.
The video showed what looked like armor and guns... but that might be for the "Armored YF-21" that Yamato will release after the original.... oi!

Don't worry man Graham confirmed this release to come with the gun pods and fast packs. Even the fold booster will be included. Yes it's still expensive, but at least you get everything you could ask for in the ULTIMATE YF-21.
