The 21 has always been a pain to transform even when it was in 1/72 scale, so for people who already know how complex the transformation is and still complain about it, I think it's just being anal. I mean, I've had my 1/72 YF-21 for some years now and I still have a b*tch of a time transforming it.

Got my YF-21 today. It's not THAT much of a pain to transform; I've seen toys way more complex than that. It's just that's it a floppy mess between modes. I like it, but the major problem is this toy, like other Yamato offerings, looks good but doesn't feel good. A very nice display piece though. MP-03 Starscream might not look as good when viewed from under but it sure is way more sturdy, especially in robot mode. And it's just as complex to transform.

LOL. Which Yamato valk hasn't been a floppy mess between modes? Haven't opened my YF-21 yet as I am still trying to get used to the 19 (bought both recently). I can see having the Yamato after taste on both (a bit of scare on transforming, a bit of stress & crack, but a good bit of coolness as well). They do look darn impressive & streamlined. So hope the 21 is as good as people say. It looks great from the box, though I wish the blue is a tad more purple.

The YF-21 is safe to transform, none of the steps involve using force like on the YF-19. If you create stress marks with that one, it definitely means you don't know what you're doing.

i've got the yf-19 but still haven't convinced my self about getting the 21. its the price. I really love the 19 the way it looks in both modes but the 21 only appeals to me as jet not so much in battroid mode. If prices go down i'll get one but for now i just cant commit to it. Has anybody gotten the Gn-u dou versions of the 19 21 and 11?

I haven't had a chance to open mine yet since opening a Yamato Valk is like listening to an album; it's something you do, an event. Thanks to all of you I know what to look for when transfor... er converting to the other modes.

i've been wanting to get the yf-21 but USD200 is a bit much for something with little or no die cast. I did go ahead and get the yf-19 though.

Good luck getting a non-problematic one... I just discovered mine had cracked the plastic around fighter's neck/robot's hip on its own, causing the figure to essentially fall in half when transforming .

Ouch. Isn't that unacceptable for a toy of that price? I only transformed my YF-21 a couple of times. So far so good.

Whoops! Undue confusion there, I was talking about the YF-19, as tanrover mentioned he was getting one. I don't have a YF-21, mostly because I'm not a huge fan of the design.
