Indeed. The DMZs are my high end Votoms choice, out of all the other options there was. Too bad the line was short lived, and didn't even get a chance to release a Brutishdog. But having Rabidly Dog release is quite awesome on its own.

Who knows, maybe one day Bandai will dare to pick up this line and do it some chogokin DX justice (one can hope and dream ...)

Not likely. Votoms market doesn't seem very big, and Bandai already has their model kit line. Takara went back and continue the small size 1/48 Artic Gear line and released a few bundle sets last year, but even those don't seem to sell that well (saw some on discount months after my purchase). We can still dream, even if its an impossible dream...
A DMZ Brutishdog and Burglary Dog would be my dream. I'll take a Strong Bacchus too.

haha... amen to that list... I've held onto my Yamato 1/12 set for both the Brutishdog and Strong Bacchus for that exact reason... no good representation outside of model kits or old school takara popy... alas, one can dream

Apparently inspired by the iphone11-pro's lens-similarity to the Scopedog's, Wotafa puts out a review of the ActicGearNext Burglary Dog... Still have this thing. It was considered very pricey at release around $60 for a tiny figure of its size, when the regular stuff are around $15-20 a pop. But looking at what we get nowadays for $60, its no longer that bad. Kind of sad though as $100 figure is considered as cheap now... Even more sad is that this seems to be the only mass produced Burglary Dog figure that I know of. It is a great Actic Gear release, probably their best, and the accessory gear is top notch. Just that when it is so small, you have to be very careful not to snap or break any thin plastic. Mine lost a "D ring" on one of the shoulders, just fell off somewhere years ago. But still my favorite Actic Gear in my collection, and so sad that we never get a more detailed big size Burglary Dog figure since. It looks so much cooler than other green scopedog add-ons IMHO.

whoa!
Peaugh recently reviewed some VOTOMS bots, Acid Rain's B2Five Scopedog and Brutishdog:
I didn't get 'em since they were rather expensive for SD'ish bots and, honestly, I Like Big Bots And I Cannot Lie!
However, these new SD'ish 'Dogs are quite very interesting based on Peaugh's review.

However, these new SD'ish 'Dogs are quite very interesting based on Peaugh's review. They seem so. From ToysTV's review, they are very 'playability' centric toys that meant to be play with. They even mention it is not SD, but a stylization of the sculptor's aesthetics, so they are not intended to look cute or chibi like other SD figures, but rather how the sculptor sees a very playable figure should look. And you can swap parts with the Acid Rain 1/28 series to make some frankenstein Dog. Almost got me to buy a set and look up some Acid Rain stuff to start a small collection. But when I found out some of the sets I like are exclusives with big mark-ups, I decided to not pull the trigger.

Saw a good-enough deal on it (15k-yen), so finally got me the DMZ-04 Rabidly Dog... One of my favorite. Though the hooks on the backpack attaching to the back has a lot of pressure, mine eventually cracked after years of displaying. Have to superglue it on. But since the backpack is engineered to do the down-form, and it wasn't meant to swap out for other backpacks like the Scopedog, I can live with the permanent attachment on mine.

psst! dunno how long it'll last, but sale on Votoms blu-ray at amzn as of this posting... Man, so underrated as if no one knows about these gems in the western world, literally at bargain bin price now only a few months after released. While I have not watched through them all, and the visual quality is only so so, but still really nice to have them officially subtitled and on blur-ray.

Just saw this silhouetted artwork of upcoming Votoms stuff from B2Five posted at TH: www.taghobby.com/archives/413028
Standing Turtle, Standing Tortoise, and another Scopedog variant (Melkia, Spacedog, Odon)? Thought it was a Strikedog at first with the obscured left-hand, but the antenna is regular Scopedog. Looking forward to it!
