Welp! Turns out the b2five can move and open the head on the Snapping Turtle. It was just different from the way the Actic-Gear implemented it, i.e. the head connection is actually a swivel-hinge, instead of the head-slider in the Actic Gear. It was just really latched tight yesterday that I thought it was damn unmovable fused static in place, but just really needed some little wiggle.
So, I'm more glad now than yesterday. I really gotta commend the B2Five team for this simple but effective innovation!
woo hooo!!!
edit: Btw, the instruction-paper that came with this toy does not mention this particular feature and process at all...

Ok. Fwiw, the Turtle and Marshy (and their pilot-figures) proved quite resilient and tough even with the rather rough handling by these guys...

I just picked up the Votoms Complete Collection bluray from Amazon, and am enjoying the series. I have the 1/12 Scopedog from Yamato that came out in the mid 2000's I believe.
And I just learned about the existence of the 1/12 Scopedog by Threezero after browsing YouTube videos from Scorched Earth Toys. Is eBay the only place to obtain one now? I see prices are inflated on eBay. Also I see there is a version 1 and version 2. Is it possible to tell which one I would be buying from looking at auctions?

Those threezero Scopedogs are from an era when threezero was not known for quality. I recommend checking out the reviews on anymoon.com coz he had broken ankle issues among other breakage. This was before they started using diecast in their products.
I thought about getting these at one point until I saw his reviews and changed my mind.

Oh man! Yikes those are all awful breakages! I liked my Yamato version but the finish is not detailed and weathered unlike the Threezero version. But I remember it was built really well. I'll have to take it out of storage and re-experience it again. I see the average price on eBay for the Threezero Scopedogs around $700-$900. With the risk of the broken parts, it's definitely not worth it to me anymore in pursuing. Aside from the Yamato version, is there anything comparable to the finish/weathering detail of the Threezero but from another quality company?

There should be a bunch of discussion on them in the early pages of this thread. Around 11 inches tall, ABS and small amount of diecast with full weathering paintjob (but not at Threezero's level of course). You might still find some on Yahoo Japan auctions and Mandarake (just looked. Mandarake has a few Scopedog and Rabidlydog in almost new condition). order.mandarake.co.jp/order/listPage/list?keyword=votoms%20dmz&lang=en

I messaged Threezero on Facebook to ask if this would ever get reissued. I complimented their Scopedog. And all I got was a thumbs up on the compliment sentence, and not the actual question. I asked them to clarify what that thumbs up meant, and I got no reply.
I hate it when companies like this can't even give a decent detailed response. I hate to think what their customer service is like when you have a legit issue.

These B2Five figures are bigger than I expected in a good way. What are the next 2 figures in their line up?

Anyone here know about this line by Kaiyodo, like when it was released and the quality? Found some info on HLJ
It's over 20 years old. I found one used on AmiAmi for under 1500JPY so I ordered it. Hope it is good.

Interesting. This item's 15.9cm/6.2" height is about: - just a bit under half of the 33.5cm of their original 1/12 Scopedog product
shorter than the legendray 1/18 Takara DMZ-04 that's about 27cm. - a bit shorter than the Bandai 1/20 Scopedog (7.5")
- about as close to a Wave 1/24 Scopedog (6.5")
It does look quite nicely detailed with opening cockpit and pilot.
No mention of metal/diecast content "Zinc alloy die-cast inner-frame", but I still hope the plastic is as sturdy as the old 35Max toys.
