new mag-scan pics from TD-forum:
TC looks a bit slimmer than the regular grunt.
As such, Bandai's still a such d*ck for making TC a pbandai-only item.

Possible new 1/48 Votoms line from TakaraTomy, under the branding "Toyrise". This is in scale with their old Actic Gear releases, which are also in 1/48 scale. Interesting.

Finally opened my HMR Red Shoulder, and have been waiting to compare it with Threezero's Rabidly Dog. So who wins you say? Threezero got my vote. - Threezero is more solid, more diecast, a lot more paint, and it just feels better in hand. - Bandai's has a slightly nicer sculpt, the decals adds quite a bit, and awesome arm articulation with joints never done before. But the lack of paint, some slightly loose joint (waist swivel is quite loose, and the knee caps wobble), and you find sprue marks very often, just made it feel less high end (even though it cost more). - While Bandai wins on the arms design, Threezero wins on the legs, especially on the multi-jointed ankle. It has a wider range than Bandai's and can do better sliding pose. Bandai seems to have put all the effort on engineering the arms, but forgot all about the legs... - Bandai offers an articulated Chirico/pilot, but the proportion is very toyish with a big head. Threezero's is not articulated, but painted better and look realistic and well proportioned. - With both side by side, they are close enough to look in-scale, but with Bandai's head being bigger (won't notice when just comparing the body). All in all, a very neck-to-neck competition, and even though I like the Threezero Rabidly Dog a tad bit more as the whole package, Bandai's do have an overall nicer sculpt if compare to Threezero's green Scopedog. To me, it is like a 9.5 (Threezero) vs. a 9.25 (HMR). You can't go wrong picking either line to collect, or if you still can't make up your mind, just get both like I do.

Quick comparison of the pilot figures from the two line. Threezero (left) vs. HMR (right). Unfortunately, the two pilots are not interchangeable between the two toyline. Threezero pilot can fit inside HMR pretty well, but unable to close the hatch completely with big gap due to the console not sitting in the ideal position or angle around the pilot's belly. When putting the HMR pilot in the Rabidly Dog, the longer human legs have a very tough time going in, simply not enough leg room. It is unfortunate that they are not a direct swap. But mystery solved nonetheless. And they do scale well with each other, if displayed side by side.

Bandai HG BurglaryDog kit review: Really want this, but in HMR or Robo-Dou form. The HG kit turns out a lot smaller than I expected.

It is really tempting. But I have to resist, since it is almost a given they will release this again with more accessories or as a better variant. I just don't want to end up having more green Scopedog duplicates in the long run. But it is hard to not just go ahead and press the "order" button. Anymoon/ScorchedEarth has recently released some retro-reviews of the Takara 1/24 Dual Model *Dogs... These bring back memories from the more early days of collecting, when some of those chrome reissues could be seen regularly in selected local comic book stores. I picked up a couple of those, as well as the regular looking reissues. Don't think I have ever seen the clear one however. Also have a vintage green Scopedog original in decent shape, those the box a bit beat up.
