AT Votoms has been on my mind quite a bit lately. I just got hold of the first episode of Case Irvine. Going to check that out hopefully soon-ish. www.votoms.net/ci/www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=11845I also recently picked up Stage 2 vol 1 of the Kummen Jungle Wars at a FYE store closing in my area for a couple bucks. I'm finishing up my Gundam Movie Trilogy duties then moving on to Votoms. So, I'm trying to get it done in terms of this show. I understand that there's a certain chronology with regards to how the TV shows and the OVAs can be watched. Just another way to enjoy them I s'pose! EDIT: And to answer your question MPCHI, I've not had a chance to see Alone Again or Phantom Arc. Still haven't even finished up Pailsen Files.

Its odd that a bunch of new Votoms shows pop up lately, but not much talk on them. I am more of an old school fan, so only sticking with shows about Chirico & co. The Case Irvine & Votoms Finder series doesn't interest me as much with the funky (too modern) mecha designs. But if they are really good, I'll check them out too.
Toy-wise, I still hope Takara will revive the DMZ line. I will always have room for a DMZ Brutishdog anyday. Its such a great toy line.

Be careful, it is very easy to get VOTOMS syndrome, where all you do is try and find VOTOMS related stuff and forget about everything else. Been there done that. Awesome stuff. I also hope the DMZ line gets revived, those releases are AWESOME

Sometimes, I wonder if Pailsen Files killed all the momentum the franchise got going. There was indeed a lot of hype and anticipation of a Votoms revival a few years back, then we see Takara leading the toy scene in a big way with the 1/48 Arctic Gear line and the DMZ. Then MaxFactory, CM's, Bandai hopped on the bandwagon as well with more products. But then, it just sort of died down, as more episodes of Pailsen Files were revealed. And even to this day, with 4 new shows, there is barely any attention paid to it. I wouldn't even know the shows are up and running if I haven't made an effort to search for them. Really wonder what happened to the franchise...
I youtubed the Case Irvine & Votoms Finder trailers, they both seem to be very well animated, and fully 2D animation. Both seems to be in some distant future of the Chirico timeline with fresh new characters. Still not digging the new mechas, but the show might have potentials.

I remember having the vintage 1/24 Takara version as a kid. After doing a search for Votoms and Scopedog, I am immediately falling in love with these modern version pictured in the first couple of pages of this thread.
Sometimes doing searches on Robot Japan can be a bad thing. lol I'm forecasting I'm going to be spending more money soon.

It seemed like there was a new Scopedog every other month for awhile there. And when there's that much output in the marketplace it started to feel like a feeding frenzy.

I believe its Bandai 1/20 model kit on the left, then Takara DMZ 1/18 in middle and right.

Bandai 1/20 plamo-kit is the smaller one on the left, 1/18 Takara DMZ are the bigger ones at the middle and right. oh, and Sumika and Squidy are figmas (around 1/12ish) ...
