Thanks for the schooling. The Takara looks pretty good. I like the blue one. I considered a Yamato back in the day, but never pulled the trigger.

The blue one is a Strikedog, pilot by one of the main antagonist Ypsilon in the show. This particular one used to be pretty cheap when the Takara DMZ used to be pretty abundant in the market, around $70 or lower (discounted/clearance). It now can cost you $150-200 in Yahoo Japan or Mandarake, but still among the easier to find ones. The middle purple one however can worth quite a bit, since its an exclusive Melquia repaint Scopedog ($300 and up).

in addition to what mpchi posted, the Red Shoulder Custom parts (missile/missile-box/gatling/) on my Melquiya are part of a separate accessory pack called MAP-03 (with Vanilla microman figure) as reviewed here: anymoon.com/blog/?p=6775It's a bit rare, so expect to see it listed at scalper-pricing. The Melquiya itself comes included with the RoundMover backpack instead as extra accessory.

Testing some posing of the 1/18 DMZ on a rinky-dink bandai-stand... imgur.com/Mu28z6ZTrying to emulate this old 1/24 art: I really oughta get the much lighter 1/20 Melqy kit to do floating poses...

You just want to make me feel more jealous, don't you? Heh! Based on this thread, I believe you have a more complete set of DMZs (and Yammies, and others) than me. At any rate, I wish Takara will resurrect the DMZ-line like they resurrected their Diaclone-line. With improvements from today's tech and stuff, of course.

Nah. Only 3 DMZs and a bunch of Actic 1/48, far from being complete, and no Yamatos either. DMZs and the Actics fits my appetite enough. And it is indeed a shame that DMZ line die so soon. We didn't even get a Brutishdog

Awesome!
I still have the Actics that came with the Pailsen-files dvd back in the day.
I do prefer the DMZ coz they scale a bit better with the Yammie 1/60 Destroids and HMR Glaug and Dougram for good Battletech/Mechwarrior casting. I may still get the Yammie 1/12 if I ever find an affordable v2/v3 and RSC kit.
At any rate, fellow MWFer jenius of anymoon/scorched-earth just posted his 1/12v1 review:

Got a 1/12v1. Not as bad as I thought it would be. Actually a very good item, imho, and not as wobbly as Chachi's/RPA's. Waiting on some weapons to dress it up a bit like the others... imgur.com/hI3OjZrTakara 1/48, Bandai 1/20, Takara 1/18, Yamato 1/12v1
