Remember the Arch Enemies series? Well, Bandai has gotten around to releasing the first of two figures from 0079. The figure is similar to the WZC and Tallgeese as far as size and materials. The legs are double jointed at the knees for kneeling poses. The arms, however, offer standard articulation. The shoulders do not move forward. It comes with many accessories: beam rifle, beam javelin, two beam sabers, gundam hammer, and two shields. You have to build the core fighter yourself, and it's transformable. The torso is hollow, and you can put the core fighter inside by separating the torso from the pelvis. This is one impressive toy. They're 20 bucks at Target, and presumably TRU will be getting them too. Highly recommended.

Which part of the country did you spot these? I haven't seen them in the Bay Area yet.

does anyone here own both the AE RX-78-2 and the Master Grade Kit ? If so, can you take a pic of them together for comparison? ;D
It will be awesome!
Hope the Gelgoog follows soon!

Just got the AE Gundam RX-78-2 at Target for $19.99. Not yet available at Toys 'R Us. The figure looks fantastic with painted-on weathering and panel lines. It comes with 2 shields, 2 beam sabres, a hyper bazooka, beam rifle, beam javelin, and gundam hammer (ball and chain). Additionally, there's a transforming core fighter and several extra hands. I can't wait to see what they've done with the Gelgoog--not yet available.

Toyboxdx.com has a picture of this figure on its homepage currently. Don't see a review yet though.

Must check toy stores on payday....must ;D
I have been waiting for these, IMHO they are better than MSIA and just the right size for play.

Oh yeah, this is 10 times better than an MSIA. I'd even say that this is better than the Kado Senshi Gundam, even though it is a bit less articulated. If you like the rx-78, you can't go wrong with this puppy. I've seen a listing on waist-joint.com that there will be SEED Arch Enemies coming out this year. The rumour is that they'll be the Freedom and Justice Gundams. Needless to say, I'm excited. I hope this line continues for a long time.

Our local Target in New York has both the new RX-78 -2 AND the older wing and Talgeese III! Strange, but good luck if you missed out on the first releases.

Bandai is doing right by this toyline!
It's a cross between extreme playability and aesthetics! Helluva lot better than MSiA, and a helluva lot more playable than kits!
I hope the AE line continues!

Does anybody yet have the Arch Enemies Gelgoog? Heard that it's out now but haven't seen it in stores around here yet. How good is this one?

I picked up the 'goog this past weekend. Typically, people are finding them at Target, but I found mine at K-mart. It's pretty good. I don't like it as much as the AE Gundam, though. Still, it is a big Gelgoog, and it comes with a bunch of accessories, BFG Beam Bazooka included. It's also really heavy for a plastic toy, I was pretty surprised at it's heft. I'd still recommend getting it, it's still really cool, it just doesn't measure up to the superior AE Gundam.

Thanks for the reply. I'll check out the local KMart since I can't find any at Target.

One thing to look for is box color on whatever the store AE's does have. The initial run of rx-78's came in a blue box, as the WZC's and TGIII's did. Bandai has now switched over to a red box, which they're packing the 'Goog's, 78's, and WZC's in. This means that if your store has piles and piles of blue boxed stuff, chances are the Goog, like Elvis, is not in the building. Red boxes signal a likelihood that they're at least putting out merch from cases that contained a 'goog.

I also have seen these new red boxes for the AE series but only containing the RX-78's. I wonder what will be featured next in the AE line-up. Anybody have any ideas on this?

I wouldn't say it is better than the Kado Senshi Chogokin stuff, simply put, Chogokin. There seem to be two versions of this toy here? In Target they are in blue boxes and sell for $19.99. Toys R US got some Red Boxes and they sell for $24.99 I compared the two from having owned the RX-78-2 Blue Box with red box, aside form the box I don't see a difference. I thought it was a QC difference, you guys who bought the blue box RX-78 know what I mean, check out the antenna, it was hard to find one that was not bent. But this was the same on the red boxed ones as well, so any way I bought the Gelgoog since I never found it in Target.
BTW, I thought ToyBox's front page was actually the SCM RX-78-2 not the Archenemy series one...

The blue box ones and the red box ones are identical. As far as price differential...well, now you see why TRU is having it's lunch eaten by Target and Walmart. As far as being better or worse than the KS stuff, that's a toss up, that tends to go in favor of the AE. The ks '78 has the ae one beat on poseability...and it does have (minimal) diecast. The AE is bigger, more detailed, has a transforming core fighter, and is cheaper ![;)](http://lemonstre.fr/robot-japan/smileys/wink.png) .

John I guess the real answer is to...GET THEM ALL...;D;D Like I did LOL I skipped the Wing stuff, I have reserved opinions on the whole series the mechs don't excite me like Seed and the UC stuff, But I wonder what will be the next AE? Hoping on a RX-93 and Sazabi? ![:o](http://lemonstre.fr/robot-japan/smileys/shocked.png)

I'm looking forward to Arch Enemy versions of the mecha from 0080: The NT-1 Alex and the Zaku variation. A high quality Zaku would be nice, don't you think? Or an Arch Enemy version of the Kampfer. ![:D](http://lemonstre.fr/robot-japan/smileys/grin.png)

I finally found a 'goog at a Toys R Us. ![:)](http://lemonstre.fr/robot-japan/smileys/smiley.png) Yup. It was in the red packaging all right. Never found it a Target, and the local KMart went out of business. I have the SCM RX-78. What's on the Toybox DX front page is not the SCM because it's too detailed. The detailing and coloration along with the bent antenna give it away as an AE RX-78.
