Nope! I find it depends what shipping method I use though. Whenever I got my stuff sent by SAL from Hobbylink i'd always have to pay an additional 20-40 bucks at the door but with Hobbylink and Amiami with EMS I dont pay a thing. Hey I am from Canada, and ordering from AmiAmi too... Just wondering which part of Canada do you live? I am planning to order both VF-25S and VF-25F... it's over $200CAD... I wonder if EMS really gonna let me escape the customs... i will be in Canada in a few months.....i might also need those info on how to avoid paying extras when i shipped some stuff from amiami..... ;D

I've ordered over 20-30 times from Hobblink and now a few times from Amiami and the only time I had to pay extra was when I got that 50% off EMS deal... its almost like I got half off and had to pay that half back at the door! Im not really sure how it all works though.

I'm in Canada too and I've never ever paid customs on anything coming from Asia. And that's on several hundreds transactions. Actually, I only pay customs on stuff coming from the USA, and even then, it's mostly only with BBTS.

I've been looking at maybe getting the Ozma Armored 1/60 figure only because I think he looks so much better than the 1/48 DX figure. Anybody have this figure and want to comment on what they think about it? Also what's the diecast content?
Or if anyone knows where it's discussed in this thread would be helpful.

As far as I know there's only one toy version of the VF-25's and that's the 1/60 DX, the other ones are just all plastic toys and the 1/72 model kit. I'm pretty sure there's no 1/48 version of any of the VF-25's.

Oops, sorry Chen, got my sizes mixed up, and you are right. I didn't notice it was a kit. www.hlj.com/product/BAN958765I liked how the armor is a little more trim around the legs. Bummer.

I got the DX VF-25 Alto with the exclusive armor kit and it's amazing. I agree, the Alto does look really good. I like all the upper body armor of the Ozma, it's just the leg parts being kind of big. The model hits it just about right for me.

Has anybody heard or seen any reviews or blogs on the VF-25F Tornado?

So I picked up the VF-25F Tornado. It's almost a standard VF-25 with some slight mould adjustments to hold the Harrier style Tornado wing attachments on, which slide over the top of the regular wings and hold really solid. More than anything I was curious to see if there were better poses than the same basic two or three pics that are all over the net. That's an affirmative, as the wings can be adjusted to whatever angle you want and I prefer them closer to the body than what is seen in the promo pics. Weight wise it's not any more back heavy than the the regular super armor VF-25. Sorry, no pics yet.

Does the crotch lock seem stable? No tendency for the figure to suddenly collapse backwards?

Not in any of the standard posing I've been doing. I haven't posed it much beyond an A frame stance and messed around with the wing positions. But the crotch joints have appeared stable, or at least they haven't done anything that brought my attention to them. When I get home I can take a closer look though.

I messed around with it and had no problems with it collapsing backwards due the hip joints. Is this a common problem that has been reported? Mine will lose balance before the joints give way.

It was a pretty common problem with the DX VF-25 to have the crotch lock (the bit that folds out and holds the two halves of the fuselage that form the groin together) weaken very quickly to the point where the figure will have difficulty holding itself together. All of my VF-25's have had it in varying degrees, even later iterations like the VF-25S Full Armor (which is a SERIOUS problem considering all the added weight that figure is hauling around).

Oh ok. I just tested the clip a few times over and it seems pretty strong with a good solid click. I'll see what happens after I have it for awhile, but at the moment it holds tight.

HLJ has the VF-25F on sale for 30% off. Approx $150-165 shipped to the US. Is this a good price? Worth picking up? Does the VF-25F version address any of the shortcomings of the original issue?

Truly speaking, I am not a real die-hard collector of Macross fighters. The other day when I was cleaning up my room, I came to realise that I have 5 units of DX Chogokin VF-25F Messiah fighters. Am I crazy or something? They are displayed with different weapons and in different modes as follows: 1) Battroid mode with super parts(movie version) 2) Fighter mode with super parts (Tamashii's exclusive version) 3) Battroid mode with armor parts (Tamashii's exclusive version) 4) Battroid mode with Tonardo Pack 5) Gerwalk mode with Tonardo Pack I can't imagine how much more I would spend if Bandai will release an improved version which is more anime-accurate with better design of head and landing gears in near future just like Yamato did for the original Macross series? What if another upgrade version of it will be released in conjuction with the second instalment of the movie that has never been appeared in TV series? What if the ending story of the movie were inspired from the original DYRL movie whereby Hikaru would take over the position of deceased Roy Focker to pilot VF-1S, so in this case, Alto's took over Ozma's position to fly VF-25S but with the same body paint as VF-25F ie, white, red and black? You know what I am saying right?

Nice pics Glaw but you spelled Tornado wrong. The VF-25G with Tornado pack is out and already on sale, I'm thinking of picking it up since I like this color scheme the best and it looks awesome with the Tornado Pack. It'll be my first DX VF-25 and honestly since I keep most of my variable fighters in fighter mode the less then stellar robot mode doesn't bother me plus it comes with a stand which is something Yamato should include with all it's releases. www.1999.co.jp/eng/10139366
