After a few days of searching i gaveup and call a friend in hk to bring back a Psyco gundam Metal composite to the USA. I got my hands on it today and was pretty impressed with the great details, very nice paint job, and the over all QC of this toy. but if you are looking for diecast you migh be disappointed. i spend 2 hours playing with it and was only able to find a few places that uses diecast parts. pls forgive my cheap digital camera( my normal camera ran out of battery). Wilson, Nice, its engineering [use of metal] kind of reminds me of the 1/48 V gundam DX . How tall is it? Is it stable to stand holding the shield ? What gimmicks does it have aside from its transformation? ;D I'm curious & anxious to know how it compares to the MSIA DX.

I'd also like to know how it compares to the MSiA version. Wish it had more diecast. Is it really worth the price of purchase?

I'll have this guy in hand some time next week, and will be able to post my thoughts on how it compares to the MSiA. I had the MSiA for years. I never liked how wobbly it was, and always thought something about the scuplt was lacking. The Psyco Gundam's supposed to an imposing beast, but it never came across in the MSiA. Nevertheless, I held onto it because there weren't any better options out there. However, the moment I preordered the GFF Metal Composite, I put my MSiA up for sale on eBay.

At 11", the Metal Composite version is about 1/2" taller than the MSiA (30 cm vs. 26 cm). Wilson, did you pay $90 before shipping costs or with shipping costs?

Funny, you'd think a couple of inches wouldn't make all that much difference, but I was kind of disappointed to hear that it was only 11" as opposed to the anticipated 13". So basically, I can pass my MSIA psycho as 1/144? I thought it was closer to 1/172 as with the rest of the MSIA line. Either that or bandai just "small-sized" this version to "make do" of existing MSIA molds. Looking at the pics, save for the nice paint job and metal part it looks like the MSIA mold. Looks like the real reason behind Bandai's choice of this metal composite has become apparent. I was expecting its chest torso area to be a bit "bulkier" than the MSIA one as I was lead to believe by the proto type shots. Hopefully, somebody here will "beg to differ" and sell me on this piece?

i only pay $90 because a friend in hk was on his way back to the usa. I see Hlj is only charging $86 for psyco and shipping by sal is only like $16. still a pretty good deal.

I'm not yet quite convinced to spend an additional $100 usd for this when I already have the MSiA despite the extra detailing and modest diecast content of the Metal Composite. If it had a lot more gimmicks, maybe. At least the GFF #1001 had the beautiful G-Fighter and was the different enough Ka version. This one still looks too much like the MSiA aside from the extra tampo printing. Guess I'll wait to see what the next GFF Metal Composite will be.

Hey Wilson, is there any problems with paint scratching during transformation? And hows the transformed mobile armor mode itself? Is it flimsy, or is there some sort of lock to keep parts from falling apart?
Finally, about the fingers and the V- fin. Do they come off easily, cause the MSIA fingers and v-fin fall off when you look at it funny...

Do they come off easily, cause the MSIA fingers and v-fin fall off when you look at it funny... no. paint scratching during transformation is not a problem. mobile armor mode is pretty stable and holds together well because bandai did provide 2 pegs to hold it all together. the fingers is made of pvc and it stays on the palms really well. they did provide 2 sets of v fins and one of them is made of pvc also. a white stand is also included to display the mobile armor in flight or psyco gundam in A stance. hope this help. wilson.

Thanks a lot. Seems like Bandai fix most of the problems found in the dx MSIA Psycho Gundam.

I took out my DX MSiA Psycho Gundam today. It's not that bad. Sure it lacks the detail of the GFF Metal Composite, but it does transform, has hands with finger articulation, a figure of the pilot, and a movable face mask. It's also pretty big and made mostly of hard (ABS?) plastic. Just don't see that the GFF is worth it when I already have the MSiA. Wish I could handle the GFF to see if the diecast and detailing justify the purchase.

Got mine 2 days ago. Very nice mecha mode, but I'm disapointed it's not a perfect transformation. Why the add-on pegs? Would have been easy to integrate, especially at that price.

Add-on pegs? Where? For what? Thanks.

Between the legs (1 connecting rod) and between the shield halves and the legs (1 on each side). You can technically not use the pegs but the alternate mode becomes a bit flimsy as the shield halves are only secured on the forearms.
