Hi All,
I just wanted to add a few for sale forum guidelines. These are suggestions to help everyone:!. Please add a descriptive title. 2. Try to add in a description of the toy, the box (if you have it), and completeness in your text. 3. Pictures always help. 4. Please follow-through with your requests and sales. Check your correspondence. 5. Please refrain from posting live auctions unless they are yours. Others may want to get a deal. This becomes especially important for old and rare toys. Have fun

Just to add some clarification, as well: All transactions made through this board are at your own risk. Long time members of this community tend to be exceptionally trust-worthy and customer-service savvy, but we take no responsibility for their actions.
Furthermore, it's always a good idea to evaluate who you're dealing with, based upon board history. A member with a lot of posts who's been around for a long time and has sold items through this section before is a relatively safe bet. A newcomer with few posts and no transactions under their belt is a significantly larger risk. Please keep this in mind. If paying with Paypal or a credit card, take a moment to familiarize yourself with their anti-fraud policies.
***Please DO NOT expect the administration of Robot Japan to handle problematic transactions, ban or otherwise punish the people you trade with, or permit you to flame post them in response to a bad deal. This section is made available for your convenience (not for our profit), and we take no responsibility for transactions made through it.
</end rant>

May I also add: Any and All transactions, made here through RJ, still remain Professional... It doesn't matter whether the person who is Selling is a professional toy dealer, or the person who is Selling just happens to be someone who is in financial need; please treat all transactions with Dignity and Respect- so that all goes well, and perhaps you'll even find more goodies from the same, and other well-reputed, individuals back-n-forth. If you feel in your heart to add a couple extra dollars to help cover shipping costs, the person selling to you would greatly appreciate it Heartfuly. And, if you feel you may have a gift (old figures or parts you may no longer want, a dvd, or music cd, something you made, artwork, whatever) to share with your seller or to just pass along through the fanhood- that would be super-Cool, also. When your transactions are complete, and you're satisfied with your new toys, offer a good word in the Positive Transactions thread, so that everyone can share and enjoy the same wonderful experience you had. All these things help boost morale and comradery here amongst the RJ family, and further enhance the thrills of enjoying all that we share in common here at RJ, and in everyday life outside of RJ. But just remember, Transactions are Professional. Thanks! zozo-Magengar

SELLERS -
Please try to contain your sales list to one thread. For example, if you are listing a bunch of stuff on ebay, use only ONE THREAD for your auctions.
It is OK if you only visit RJ to sell things, but don't use more than one thread if you don't have to.
I will be deleting threads if you start hogging the boards.
You can modify thread titles and contents to show that you have new items.
Josh
EDIT - I deleted the whole conversation in this thread. This was supposed to be an announcement only. If you have questions / complaints / comments... feel free to PM me or take it into Break Time.
That is all.

Not sure if this is done or not, but do you delete posts once items have been sold, or after a certain number of days? I think this will be a good idea help clean up the threads and let newcomers know what is still currently available. Im new so if this is already done sorry for asking.

about shipping, It does become material so it would be cool for sellers to post their location so that buyers nearby who want to, can just pick it up instead of paying postage.

I have a question.
What's the administration's stance on bootleg DVDs?
I mean, only a fool pays for a pirate, so if you allow the sales of bootleg DVDs, you might as well allow torrent links, right?

No, there's a big difference and the mods will chime in I am sure.
In my opinion, if a member here is selling a few sets of bootleg DVDs someone else made that he/she no longer wants (i.e. they purchased them in the past from online/toy show/magazine/flea market etc.) or does a limited press of something fan made that he/she edits or put together (not selling hundreds or thousands of copies) that's one thing.
Once you get to a large scale sale, that's another thing. Torrent links are something else entirely, AND they show up in web searches. Many web forums (both large communities an small independents) have banned this because it is supporting the piracy of content they do not own and they don't want to be legally liable by association.
Also putting torrent links on forums drives new members who may only come here to sign up for said links, or for other possibly unscrupulous purposes.
Although I am not a mod, I keep a sharp eye out for shady stuff on this forum when I am on an I have helped Ed our Admin shut out spam accounts etc. Ed and the mods have enough to worry about without having to start worrying about this.
And I am not against you either, there is some totally obscure stuff that I or other members would like to get but here is not the place for it.
Google searches, torrent sites, and some fansub sites are your best option. Just remember with the way copyright is tightening up, you don't want to be caught on the wrong side of things.

Everything Mr. Ginrai stated is basically correct. Any posts attempting bulk sales of pirated DVDs would be deleted immediately and possibly result in the banning of responsible members. There are isolated situations where people might be selling a pirated DVD or set of DVDs that may no longer be in print or available anywhere else, and we have let this remain as a grey area up to this point (especially those that might have English subtitles or dubs).
As far as torrents go, we haven't deleted any posts that link to torrents as of yet, but we certainly don't advocate torrents, and if torrent links became anything of an even remotely standard posting activity, we would probably take action to outlaw them. As of now, let's just say that we advise against it.

is bidding allowed here in RJ? I am pretty sure we need to list a price, or best offer, or both. The only time RJ ever had an "auction" was when JWM sold his collection I believe, which was a significant event. That was before I was around here. Best to check with Ed or a veteran mod on this one.
