Thanks dooquie! Funny it was local eBay seller. I asked him if I could see it in person and if he offered local pickup. He decided to sell it locally. It was several hundred in fees, shipping, insurance he saved.

2 things: •Well, how is it? Does it live up to the hype? •Dude, you can't retire! There's so much more good stuff to come. Also, where else is can blow this kind of money without winding up on "vacation" in a treatment facility? Having known what this was since I was kid let’s say I was completely fixated when I first saw it in person. It was like unraveling a treasure chest for me. Never seen complete never played with T-28. I knew I wanted it but do I really want to spend so much money on it. I recently just wanted these Godaikins just couple months ago so my expectations were low. But with that said, it’s biggest metal robot in my collection and doesn’t fit in any of my display cases. I’m going to buy some special custom case for it to display it. Its just as heavy as New DX Combattler V. It’s even bigger than matchbox vehicle Voltron but that’s all plastic. So it’s big and heavy. Zero leg articulation but it’s those metal plates that open up and that elevator thing that are so cool. I didn’t take figures out I think I’m going to leave those stapled up for now. Fist shoot and hands open up which was cool. For its size and shelf prescence alone I have no problems or regrets buying it. I personally think I would be regretting more if I didn’t buy it. I did some thinking on way down to meet seller while sitting in traffic. I’m like ok I’m officially in deep end of pool in collecting and won’t buy anything this expensive again. This will be my pinnacle of my collection since this has lots of nostalgia for me. The 70s era mecha Toys don’t do anything for me since I have few and didn’t know or grow up with those. My God Marz that I just snagged so fast is coming next week then I’ll be done. I’ll still collect some of new stuff but very selective. The new stuff is great and looks good but doesn’t have that collectible desirable appeal. It’s just too easy to get and Companies just keeps reissuing things. Part of fun of collecting is the hunt.

Didnt expect this T-28 to land in my hands so fast considering I had no intentions of buying Godaikins beginning of this year. Couldn’t pass up near-mint completeT-28. non crease manual and never opened weapons still stapled. Just couldn’t pass on this grail. The box cover did have rip which I could repair. Best part it was local sale and I didn’t have to deal with troubles or worries of an expensive item broken in transit or worse stolen. Last vintage item I got whole arm broke off and had to get refund but shame once it’s broke that’s it. Not the same. So I told some people I’d retire after I get this. 😀 so looking retirement is on the horizon. Dont ask me how much because I don’t want to remind myself what I spent on collectible. 😂

Grew up with transformers and loved them but this movie franchise just pushed me farther away from transformers to point I hate transformers now and sold them all off. Putting out plastic movie junk toys that are worthless just made it worse for me. I’m definitely one of those sour ones. I mean those designs are so bad you can’t tell which transformer is which except Prime and Bumblebee. And those hip hop talking autobots just made me cringe. I didn’t watch last movie and won’t watch this one either. Wouldn’t even watch it even it was free on TV.
Would rather watch New Pacific Rim movie then Transformer movie.

Love to see the photos of this. This is one I’m waiting for. Get Ready to throw down money on this because this will be seriously expensive. This might be tipping point for some collectors price wise were you could buy yourself a new home appliance instead or this. 😂

And Bandai is telling you that it tested it and passed their QC..... Bandai should get a real QC testers..... test it like you mean it. How are they testing clickies? Just click it once and oh look it passed....That's lazy to say the least. Click it hundred times damn it. If it still clicks, yeah, it passed " the damn clicky test." Drop the package drop test? Are you kidding me? The hell for? What a waste of time... Do "the damn drop the FIGURE test!" You didn’t know?? We are the QC testers and we do it for free. 😂 I haven’t preordered anything from Bandai in good year or longer with exception of DX Combattler. I just wait until buzz dies down and from there I’ll decide if I want to buy it. Nothing new should be rush to get unless people who are early adopters or gotta have it first. Like Sentinel Mospeada, lol thing has riddle with QC issues it was short shipped but some desperate buyers were paying $375 for it on ebay. Then Sentinel re-release it. That’s like price of Japanese vintage. Ridiculous. But anyways that video is great especially if it was in English. Wouldn’t we love to be in those character selection meetings. Like ok folks here’s the next character we plan to make.

Mine came in and it’s plagued with that loose rattling noise in lower leg. Seems like right leg. I don’t miss my old GX-04s set anymore and glad I decided to keep the rest of DC line.

Chogo, you're are a one smart fellow. Yes, Maybe that was what the lame guess game for 81 was....Bandai wasn't really interested in us guessing 81 was but to see who the 85 or 90 should be. Maybe Bandai was trying to guage who the near future SOC should be.. I'm senior computer network engineer, my mind always wants to be challenged. 😄 Maybe we all should tweet/reply with our own list next time. Oh I found it! Unfortunately this page redirects you to Japanese survey when you click on an item. There's an American version but limited choices and doesn't seem to be up to date. You can just translate it. tamashii.jp/survey/?wovn=enNow I want to go to SDCC and go to Bandai booth. Or better yet Bandai America and BlueFin are literally hour and half away. My friend who owns toy collector shop visits Blue fin. Maybe next time I'll go with him.

Doesn’t Bandai have those surveys or some online comment website? I thought I remember seeing while back. I’ll have to look into it. Just submit these listings to them. If I had full admin access I probably could determine if Bandai checks this forum out that would be interesting.
I remember when I was SDCC years ago I was at Hasbro Booth. After talking for several minutes to the reps they realize I was serious collector and actually asked me to fill out 3-4 page survey multiple choice questions asking which characters do you want, are you an Army builder, which characters do you Army build, amount spent, type of collector etc.
Maybe next time Bandai does Twitter guess game just reply top 10 list. 😀

I just remembered Morphicon is month after SDCC so I expect the timing of this exclusive to be extreme bait.

It all depends on the vendor and quantity. Sometimes they will sell leftovers after SDCC and sometimes they don’t. Some may sell online but it’s not always guaranteed. power rangers are pretty popular here in San Diego or SoCal in general so I’m not sure if quantity will be available but the price will turn some off. I know when I see it in person most likely I want it. People will use this for sure for trade bait since there’s not too many Chogokin collectors here.
hope they put limit count. Because I know there’s scalpers at local shows that buy several to resale. There are always small toys shows here so I’m sure this will be trade bait.. I remember so called collector friend trying to sell me SDCC exclusive item for eBay shipped prices. I’m like really. Lucky I had couple other friends sell it to my at cost and I gave little extra or bought him lunch.

Oh it’s defintiely beautiful piece even with original colors I always like it. It’s domino effect that I’m resisting. If I buy this I’m buying Dragonzord and you know what happens from there with future related releases. . I Wasn’t planing on buying Dragonzord. I’m Curious on asking price too.

Yeah what’s most expensive SoC going for right now besides DX Mazinger Z....Voltron. Highest secondary market sold prices on eBay right now is Voltron. Numbers don’t lie. Even being sold in Hong Kong and Japan for that price. Easily I see 20-30 sold in $700-800 range. So us westerners do make very big deal on sales. Bandai doesn’t get that secondary market money so they don’t care. The whole point is that there are toys that appeal primarily to Japanese fans and not as much to western fans. Western reception simply doesn’t play that big of a role for those things. Western reception doesn't play big role...really? The whole reason I bring up Voltron is because of the demand and western centric super robot. I mean how many social media and forums posts have I seen were people put "I started collecting SoC because of Voltron." Believe Voltron was fully revealed at San Diego Comic con in 2016. Remember Wait is Over hype train. So telling me western fans or collectors are not important is part I don't agree with. You have the hottest SoC unraveled in my hometown. Voltron brought in a new wave of collectors who didn't even know what chogokin was. You think Bandai doesn't want to hold onto those new buyers. I'm perfectly aware that companies don't get secondary market cuts, heck I'm a power seller on ebay. I know that. People are willing to pay insane prices on after market on something then they have a hot item. You think Bandai wouldn't want that money instead? That's the whole point I'm trying to make there. I remember watching or reading Tamashii Nations interview that they well aware of some secondary prices of some of their chogokins. I mean why else would they do reissues or -R of certain items because most of the secondary prices were high and their was customer demand. Almost every toy line I collected did reissue on a hot secondary item. Plain and simple, it's all about supply and demand=sales and profit. If sales are low, what happens? The line dies out.

So Bandai doesn’t care making lot of money? Of course they do. It’s like saying western interest or buyers are not important is what I’m getting at. All I can say is look at young Asian company Like Hot Toys. Their license catalog is exclusively all US originated characters Star Wars, Marvel,DC, Predator etc. They are selling figures majority plastic with some diecast easily $300-$500 And people all over world are buying that up. Hot toys has some of hottest figures right now. Look at Hulkbuster fhaf retailed at $800 and sold out and now fetching $1800. Telling me that Bandai wish they got on that 1/6 cash cow. Why else would they try to get figure market with SH Figuarts making American characters and such and linking up with Bluefin with is literally one hour away from me. Bandai makes money from stores buying their stock. Bandai does not make money from the secondary market. If you buy a Voltron for $300 from HLJ and sell it for $10,000 Bandai doesn’t get any of that profit. They get whatever HLJ paid them for the figure. My entire point is your statements of western buyers are not important is what I’m trying to get and Bandai doesn’t care about us.

Where do you get the notion that RJ represents the “general” population of SR collecting? Most RJers are westerners or at least highly influenced by western culture. I would think this is a welcomed release to Japanese and those who grew up watching this anime. If anything we are probably a small pocket of the fandom who speak English and grew up with Voltron as Voltron instead of Golion. I may be the minority here, I am totally skipping all pacific rim figures. . But I probably will give in on this one. Yep, Zambot, especially Zambo Ace, is very popular among Japanese super robot fans. Popularity plus 40th anniversary = GX-81. Bandai has no reason to care whether a handful of western fans like it or not. And I'm with you on the Pacific Rim figures. The move was fun but the Jaegers just aren't visually interesting enough to me to want toys of them. It’s kind of funny we got taken on social media hype ride and nobody guessed it right even on SoC FB page. Some people on others group sites were like for sure it was GL. But according to translation it said New small line though? That hasn’t been revealed yet. Wonder if Bandai themselves think they might have dropped the ball, after seeing public reactions and what the majority had guessed (and failed). Yeah it’s like hot air ballon deflated. It’s like I don’t want to participate in these guess games too much because you get letdown. You know some of us old timers don’t got much time in this world you know? Lol. I mean I was thinking after GX-100 I might retire from collecting and enjoy life more. 😀 I got few more vintage grails to get and I’m riding off in the Sunset. I have 3 expensive mountain bikes I haven’t rode in couple years and some old BMX freestyle bikes I need to finish building. Just been to obsessed with collecting.
