The Autobots look great, the Decepticons on the other hand are kinda spindly looking. Not too crazy about toothpick Soundwave.

The decepticons look like rip off of evangelion mechas. I like the new Arcee though.

Looks like a cross between animated and the movie... Soundwave transforms into an unmanned spy drone? Or a cruise missile? Prime looks boring Like Starscream's design, tho.

i. hate. this. new. cartoon. everything in this series screams RECYCLED.
i think the only reason why animated didn't fly was because it had a girl as main hero.

Any chance we can get the title of the topic changed to "Transformers: Prime News"?

Yeah, I really liked the clip. Some people said it looked blocky, slugish, and plastic, but I thought it looked pretty good for coming from a company that doesn't normally do full length cartoons.

Not sure what's going on with the toy line. I'm sure there'll be one since I can't picture Hasbro passing on a toy line for a home grown property like this airing on a network that they share with Discovery meaning no licenses and no broadcast royalties meaning whatever profit they make off of the toys is theirs alone, they don't have to share with, say, Cartoon Network like in the past. It's a good position to be in making a toy line very lucrative for them.
There have been hints at a toyline, but nothing official, just off hand comments from the designers. Who knows when we'll actually see them, may be as far away as Toy Fair in February since they missed the Fall Toy Fair a few weeks ago. Whatever it is, it won't be in time for the premier, it's looking like Animated all over again.

Character Bios. This may be the first time I like Megatron as a character as his bio sounds great. www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/transformers-prime-39/transformers-prime-character-info-170834/Optimus Prime The leader of the Autobots and protector of humans is the biggest, strongest and smartest. He goes from big rig to his red-and-blue armored self. "We always saw Optimus as the noble knight who was there to protect and to carry on the code. The code extends as far back as to what it represented on Cybertron and the lineage he came from, which was protection of the race," Kurtzman says. Megatron The villainous Megatron, who seeks to conquer Earth, has acquired a rare element that allows him mastery over life itself. Kurtzman says Megatron "in many ways is a fallen hero. He is Lucifer. He is the one who used to be the angel. There is something compelling and also really tragic about that character." He sees Optimus and Megatron as "different sides of the same coin. That duality and that friction is what I think has made for a great relationship." Cliffjumper This Autobot "lives up to his name in that he is the fearless one, the guy who literally will leap before he looks," Kurtzman says. "His car form is very distinctive. There's a lot of character and specificity in his design of the car. It feels very true to his nature." Starscream This military fighter jet is Megatron's right-hand man. Starscream would rather sneak up on his victims than face them head-on, which makes him extra dangerous. He's an expert planner, which is one reason Megatron keeps him around. Starscream always shows respect to his general, but he's really just waiting for a chance to take command of the Decepticons himself.

Megatron's bio reminds me of the origin story often seen in the comics where he basically starts as a slave and slowly works his way up, gaining a following. The bio is a lot different from that of the game where all he cares about is destruction. Sounds like they took his G1 toy motto, "Peace through tyranny" to heart.
