Which proves yet again that this is really just a popularity contest. I think we could have a Voltes made of toothpics and gummy bears and it would still win. Too bad we didn't have another Mazinger on the list..

Wow. Voltes again. I applaud the voltes fans for their unity but am having a hard time believing that they voted for the toy and not the character.
Thank you everyone for participating. Definitely learn alot from hosting this thread (fair amount of complaints largely due to lack of publicity prior to poll). If i have the honor to do this again next year, I'll know better on how to tackle these issues.
As for the individual group TOTY, here are the results. Due to lack of turn out in this voting, the "winners" only win by a margin of 1 or 2 votes. Group 1: >$150 and transforms: Toynami (Beagle) Robotech (Mospeada) Cyclone - Scott (Stick) Benard Group 2: >$150 but does not transform: Yamato Patlabor Ingram #1 Group 3: <$150 and transforms: tie - GX-49 Shin Mazinger and Yamato Valkyrie variations Group 4: <$150 but does not transform: GX-51 Getter Dragon Group 5: no winners, only 4 votes on 4 items Group 6: no winners, 1 vote each for ROTF Devastator and Maya Sterling Alpha Fighter.
Have a great year in toy collecting!

I am surprise for the result. I vote for the Yamato 1/24 Ingram because the overall engineering is great, packing and details of the toys are outstanding. I thought the SOC Volt for Respect is kind of like a re-modified version of the old one. It is good but it is also little lazy imho. And I perfer (a TV cartoon version ;D) without the decal/sticker on its body.

Can't we vote for each 'toy category' or 'innovative inspiring toy line,' or the new fun-worthy toy series of the year? With the explosion of toy production as the year gone by, it might be a good time to ditch the idea of 'voting for One particular toy,' for the year, you know?
For example, Vocaloid has been huge and going on great throughout the year, so much so, that a chogokin version is to be released this year.
You may not appreciate people trying to vote for a figurine, for another example, and I doubt there's many who wants to do so, but one particular line of figures?
I agree too on the Voltes comment, Combattler got beefed up too.
