Glad to see Toy Wave did the right thing, but I afraid the "damage" has been done. I'm pretty sure I won't be ordering from them in the future, that packaging was just atrocious! I've had great luck also with Anime-Export.com. I've found their shipping to be reasonable and always double boxed. I got both my GX-45c's from them. No problems. I am very pleased with this figure, the gold trim really does pop and add a bit more dimension to the Maz.

IMO, online stores are already operating wif lower overheads as compared to traditional retail shops, its quite sick to see them ripping customers off by giving poor service and packaging or sending damaged/wrong goods to us. but yeah, it definitly helps when they can be bother to rectify the problems, some which i have encountered, totally ignored my mails. but like you said, the damaged is done and the next online stall is just a click away.

I think though I will still work with them. I run a business and I know that sometimes, people you hire to do the work does not do it right... So long as they offer decent prices on items, I will continue to purchase. Besides, I have been buying from them for a few years now. This is the first time that its happened...

It does look pretty good but I think if you just buy a regular GX-45 and some paint and a little modeling skills you can get the basic "look" of the figure for a lot less money.

Well your not actually paying for the figure which realistically should cost even less than a regular GX-45 but for it's rareness. When they literally produce THOUSANDS of each SOC a limited run is pretty special.

Indeed. The greatest problem of the GX-45C is the rareness. Some figures went on Yahoo Japan but there are less and less day after day.

However, on Ebay they are cheaper and cheaper day after day...

However, on Ebay they are cheaper and cheaper day after day... }D Yup. Looks to be about the same price as the going rate for a GX-45A now. I have a feeling the Atami (GX-45A) one will surpass this, its simply more exciting.....considering its production numbers are likely somewhat close to GX-45C's.

The other SOC Mazinger release that became truly rare, besides the GX-01RB, was the GX-01R+. There's hardly any of those for sale, and the ones that are for sale are pretty pricey...

I wonder if that's because the GX-01R+ is closely faithful to the anime colors in the original MZ series? Very few people are even reluctant to sell it for that issue alone. So, I guess the GX-01R+ is The most dead-on Accurate cosmetic rendition of Mazinger-Z, eh?

It looks as though prices of these have gone up and much higher than GX45A now. At least a lot less eBay listings are found. Wonder how they will go for in n auction.

these were supposed to be for the go nagai museum opening right? their production numbers should be a lot less than the atam night version then, and that is why they are more expensive too.

They were also available at tamashii web store as a lottery item, which is how I got mine. It was speculated in previous posts that 45A would worth more.

Hmm looking at this thread made me realize something.. Bandai didn't roll out any exclusives for the SOC line in 2011... interesting. Not complaining or anything though, goodness knows we don't need another Mazinger repaint again. Gold

The current asking prices for this piece are ridiculous. Been wanting to get one but the price seems to steadily increase which is now out of my price range for "different" GX-45.

It saddens me that in such a short amount of time, Bandai released so many variants of Shin Mazinger... and I don't even like the Shin Mazinger sculpt that much! Let me see if I can remember them all:
Shin Mazinger versions and variants: GX-45, GX-45A, GX-45C, GX-49, GX-49G, GX-47, GX-47N, GX-47P
Of course, there are even more variants of the classic Mazingers as well...
Classic Mazinger Z version and variants: GX-01, GX-01B, GX-01R, GX-01RG, GX-01R+, GX-01RB, GX-07, GX-07E, GX-07I
Yeah, the GX-01RB and to some extent the GX-01R+ are pretty rare and not released to the general public, but they are still variations and/or repaints of the same figure.
