yea i saw this and i have to say its terrible. I mean, i understand its targeting the children, but Hasbro seems to be really lazy. so much for them doing a great job with Titan Class Metroplex and now we return to shelforming and the worst part is that for me it looks like a terrible KO than a official transformers figure. it remeids me a lot of how bad was the FoC Combaticons and the combine form Bruticus.
for me the best Optimus Prime figure of the Bay series is still the leader class RotF Optimus Prime. aside from the issue of the swords or hooks(depending the version you had) it was still pretty sick looking.

I have the rotf leader prime, while cool looking I really love the dmk dorm model. I completely agree that the dual model kit dark of the moon Optimus Prime model kit is probably the best affordable representation of BayFormers intrepretation of Optimus Prime. I got the reissue from amiami for around $100 with shipping. The model kit made me appreciate the level of detail that is in the Micheal Bay style Designs. It remains true to the original character it suppose to represent and at the same time made it belivable. This is probably what Optimus would be like if it was real. Unlike like the bad representation of Devastator which didn't stay true to that characters design. There is also a $1200 20 inch resin statue which does look good but way over price. In regards to this new toy, I really hope that this isn't screen accurate to the. TF4 movie. Optimus just isn't the same with out his signature window chest.

Also it doesn't transform into a truck which is the charm of what is transformers all about. Still prefer the leader class RotF one better for been as close to the movie as possible in robot mode while able to transforms into his vehicle form. My only grip with it would be 2 things, the sword(or hooks which ever the version you have) and the electronic sound box thing which make the upper torso kinda to big. other than that im ok with it.

Now we got a better idea : Back to the concept origin : we are talking about knights and robot chivalry. -> close to early TF Comics and designs...

While the toy is horrible, I can see many similarities between it and the concept designs. Throw out all the kibble and they are very alike. I think the concept art is decent, but it seems more fitting for the next cartoon series. From the script leaks I have head about this film may go the hokey action route with samurai inspired robots all around. It may still be worth a watch. I like the first three films, as long as I turn off my brain during the major plot holes, but I do hope these next set of films are decent and keep pumping money into the franchise so that we will continue to still see more giant robot films, and classics toys.

From Seibertron.com...but, here's the pic... I find this laughable. So, in the prior film, Prime needed a parachute...and now, he needs to ride a dinosaur. WTFBBQ?? Remember, Michael Bay hates you.
