Considering how the MISB vintage Tryders go for these days, it is a bargain. And what is with all the price complains? Last time I checked CM's Grendizer had a MSRP of 29,800 JPY (before retailers discounts), and it was a POS. At least we will be getting a good quality product from Bandai. How true,no one bats an eye at Grendizer money as he is one of the "Gods".Id choose Tryder anyday, Grendizer is a great robot and all,but Tryder is so much more interesting.Wait til you guys see all the different modes with the spaceship piece, and tank treads. Tryder has alot going for it.And as I said a ways back, dont get used to Danguard priced SOCs it was a fluke. If your serious about classics and SOC collecting this is a must, wait and see,I feel it.

It is all about what the collector likes to collect. I'm a serious collector, but if I don't like a character much, I am not willing to pay much for it, or anything at all. I don't think there are many true Soul of Chogokin collectors anyway. They would have to have EVERY SOC release, regardless if they liked it or not. We collect what we like, and that's about it. We are all collectors, but not many are True Collectors... well, at least I haven't met one yet (other than Jumbo or vintage collectors). }D

That,s not fair comparain, since that POS CMs Grendy is really worth not even 100.... Besides if that POS didn't,t have all the ridiculous QCs and defects, it would be well worth 300 since...well it is Grendy. Tryder,s just not as popular nor the license is as expensive as Grendy. Well maybe it,s expensive because it,s not as popular....because the market would be lot smaller then Grendy...

It is a fair comparison based on MSRP.
Besides some people in this forum, you know who you are, cry that x product is expensive, then yet these are the same people who claim that they piss that amount of money after bar hoping.
Besides, we all now that Japanese online retailers will open Tryder G7 pre-orders with the usual discounts. So then again I do not see the point of complaining about price.
Unless people like to complain for the sake of it.

It's expensive yes, but you have to ask yourself do you really want it, or do you just wish it was cheaper so that it's another "good deal" to buy and have kicking around.
You've got to focus - unless this toy ends up being crap, the ones who really want it will buy it (even if they have to budget for it or cut out some other potential purchases).

It is all about really wanting. Hopefully for Bandai, a lot of people will "really want it", otherwise it will be heading to the discount section in no time (SOC Yamato 2199 style). }D

I think the price is reflecting that the robot also comes with a large diecast ship along with the large robot,I didnt mean to say alot of accessories earlier,as in weapons, but that it comes with a large piece used in coupling the robot with. Also I seem to think there are other parts not shown in the early photos, such as the large wings for the base piece and the tank with treads, which is used in his "Beagle" form amongst others.
If this piece includes all Tryders modes, which are many,it wont be just a robot,it will be a large giftset type item.Check out the lego Tryder and ships that someone made,in this thread and google it.you can see the large extra parts for transformation. The price is justifying what you get.its not that its just expensive, its because your getting alot of diecast i assume and alot of toy.

I may have to wait for it to show up on amazon and wait for price to be slashed. Getter trio killed me for a little while and while I love the tryder design, i could do without all the extras butthen it wouldnt be a true release for big fans of the character. Ill have to see where im at when the time comes. Even preorder pricing will probably still be over 20k which I guess isnt really too bad if its a big set.

Looks like it will be as tall as Daitarn 3. I like it!

Looks like he'll be a tad shorter. Which actually makes sense if you think about it - Zambot and Tryder are both piloted by kids, making Daitarn the only one of the "Sunrise trio" piloted by an adult - which is pretty rare for giant robots in general! That,s not fair comparain, since that POS CMs Grendy is really worth not even 100.... Yeah, and why even compare it to the CM Grendy instead of, you know, SoC Grendy? Which is actually in the same line? Besides, we all now that Japanese online retailers will open Tryder G7 pre-orders with the usual discounts. So then again I do not see the point of complaining about price. I certainly hope this to be case. Even if it goes down to just 23k yen, it would still make a big difference for me. Regardless of what the actual selling price will be, one thing is certain; it will only go up in the aftermarket, so don't miss it! I certainly don't intend to.

Hmm... that Soul Stage Act Soul of Chogokin looks kinda of.... lacking.. Too generic IMHO.
Also.... Trider's Ankles seem kinda... funny looking? Man, I really hate those fugly pegs sticking out of the left foot. Sigh... It's like Danguard all over again.

Agree, these hooks hanged on sides are a bit weak in design.

Aaah ... looking great! I am concerned mostly about the robot mode since the other mods looks like someone was trying to transform the figure into tryder but got stuck in the middle having no clue what is the next step!

Ha ha, Super Robots old school alt modes... -"Hey look, it's a spaceship !" -"Eh... No, it's a robot in seated position, flying with it's arms in rear..."

TADAAAAAAAA ! ...... Wallet killer ! Head transforms into the 3 vehicle modes. Extra non-transformable head included. Aside for the funky ankles, it looks spot on. An easy buy for me. By the way that stage does not come with the toy. It is sold separately for 4104 JPY.
