For those that has GX-53 or GX-65, is there any trick to get Daitarn to hold the fans?
I just opened my GX-53 after seeing all the talk about the recolor GX-65. The main robot is pretty nice, but it seems to share some similar designs with Zambot 3, especially the articulated hands (though a bit improved). So rather than being completely useless in holding any weapons, I managed to get Daitarn hold some (the Zanbar swords being the most secure), I couldn't get him to hold any of the fans at all. The way the instruction booklet depicted seem to defy gravity, and mine just falls off with the slightess touch. The thumb like to pop off too every now and then, but not too bad. But fingers are not very tight to hold any odd shapes.
Do you all have similar issue?

Getting him to hold the fans is a bit tricky, depending on which fans you're using. The completely opened ones are easy, they really do hold up like the instructions show you to. The closed ones are supposed to be like swing weapons so Daitarn holds them by the chains, dirt easy; If you want him to hold them by the handle though, it takes some fidgeting with the fingers but it's possible, same thing with the artially opened ones; you gotta kinda of squeeze it between the thumb and the rest of the fingers. The shield tho? Well, you've got me. Maybe if you twist the chains together so the fist closes around them more securely. EDIT: Here, took some pictures, hopefully these will be of some help.

Thanks guys for all the detail replies and pics. Really helpful. I'll give it a try. Wish the hands are better designed, or have designated rubber hands to grab these tight. But these will have to do.

It's very tempting, indeed. Too bad I'm already over-budget this month. Wish this sale is held at least two weeks later from today.
