Well I know I am the odd man out with this comment but I like the newest version of Mazinkaiser. I like the fact that it will look different than the Aoshima and not just the same thing over again. I would prefer however if they also made the upper arms chrome aswell and the thighs would have looked better if they had a front and back section rather than the side to side that it currently has. The plug over the screw looks a bit awkward.
Well as Ataru previously said they may stiil make changes to it.

Wow, good call on those details! Yeah, there should be more chrome, and the placement of the seam in the front would seem like a significant design flaw.
All in all, the original design was better.

You can Pre-Order at this place, and the price seems fair, since it's getting a US release. store.animeinternational.com/I'm not sure yet, but I may buy one too. Since I'm only collecting Bandai SOC, I hope to see Mazinkaiser in the SOC line, but it's a nice alternative.

www.bcbcomics.com had pre-orders that were $20.00 cheaper plus free shipping in the States. Unfortunately I don't see the order form anymore.

I' really not sure about that. Since the robot only got OAV, and only video game, I don't think it can have a true form like Mazinger.
I think the best one would be a mix of the two. But I'm not a Mazinkaiser specialist.
Max Factory has a model that seems quite accurate.

I just want to know which version of Mazinkaiser is the best? Which is the most anime correct? hello from France, I'm a big fan of Mazinkaiser ! the most anime correct is the aoshima's, because of the wings, the mazinkaiser by MaxFactory is like in the video game(the wings) this is my point of view there is five swords with the Max F Mazinkaiser but Ionly know 3, one from the chest and two from the shoulders, where are the 2 others from ? Can anyone tell me ? I hope my english is good enough

I still don't know why they didn't chrome all the grey parts or left them painted but with those gold joints now I kinda like the chrome thighs. I guess they didn't want their version confused with the Aoshima black versions. I think also this but..... grey parts are really really bad.... so, I could buy th aoshima version for the robot and this max factory for the display stand... ;D

.... All in all, the original design was better. This game version is the original design. The OVA version was released after this. I guess you think the OVA version was the original design.

Well we haven't seen the MaxFactory version compared to any SOC so it's hard to say but with the stand and the ton of accessories it should have no problem fitting in your SOC collection. The Aoshima one looks amazing but I always thought that it was just a tad to big/bulky to fit in with my SOC's. The wings alone are huge so I can only fit two Mazinkaiser's on my shelf (I've since removed all the wings from my Aoshima figures and can nicely fit five figures on one shelf) and I wish Aoshima had included stands so all the extra pieces aren't left in the box.

God I hope it doesn't have the same tight hip joints as the Genesis Gaogaigar did, I don't feel like breaking two high priced figures.

Chen. I just had a thought. If you look at the first pictures of the Mazinkaiser from Max Factory, the thighs where painted and were of a front to back design with the seam down the sides of the leg. The chrome version has thighs that are side to side. It may look strange but maybe Max Factory made a design change to the hip and that's why it now has a side to side construction with the seam running down the front of the leg.

I think your right. In the first picture you can see that the whole thigh is one piece and not chromed. But in the second you can see that it is two pieces just like the GGGG so that his leg can swivel. Infact where the chromed part meets the painted ball/hip joint is where I broke my GGGG. So it seems they are using the same design as the GGGG for the swivel feature. It would be better if they followed the Aoshima and Bandai's way of putting the swivel feature in the knees instead of the hip since that is where most people apply pressure.
