The most expensive SOC I have paid for is GX-04 Grendizer. I purchased it for around $270 from Heroes Club in SF (they are always super expensive) in 2001. I purchased it at the trail end of the .com boom. I had money to burn back then and it didn't matter. Oh yeah, a few years after that, we bought the GX-04X for $100. I waited too long for this, hence the expensive price. Add the taxes and shipping/handling (the GX-04X came from Asia) and the grand total is $400. This is one of my favorite SOC's and so it is worth it.
What's your most expensive SOC purchase?

GX-31, paid $185 for it. Cant believe I got my Dancouga and Gunbuster for less than what I paid for Voltes. Can't complain though..I say hes worth every penny! I still want a GX-04, GX-04s and GX-04B, will just wait till Bandai does a reissue or I get some more money, whichever one comes first.

If I still remember, the most expensive SOC I bought is either GX-13 Dancougar or GX-23 Zambot 3.

At release, yes that's a bit high, but you you can easily find competition to beat that price, I got mine from HK for $160 shipped with the HK item and I bought another from Carlo for about the same price for the Japanese version. That was at release. A local retailer is selling his last few GX-31's at $399 and plans to go up $100 every month it sits. Reversed business sense...Anyway, when I asked him if Voles V SOC was worth that now, he said, "Mine are." Most Expensive SOC, hmmm...I paid $289 for Grendizer GX-04S retail. 6 months later the reissue came out for less than $189.

If you refer to SOC only, then RB also for me, even if I was lucky enough with that.
In general, Daigokin Mazinger Z is my most expensive model. (about 650$)

Well, I'm not sure about most expensive, but I certainly overpaid the most for my GX-18 Getta Dragun. $115. that still stings.

$150 for my GX-02. Bought him when he first came out from a shop in Hollywood. I later paid 150 for my GX-04.

I'll pipe up here. I only have 14... wait, I have 14 SOCs now... OMG! I was so against these things when I first saw them. You guys have tainted my soul! ;D
Back on track. My most expensive SOC so far is the GX04s. I paid 180.00 for that puppy. I am still passing on the Voltes madness as it is now up to 200+ when I see it. Nope, not going there when I could put a nice minty piece of vintage robot history on the shelf for the same or less. Always have patience and you will be rewarded. This has worked for us vintage guys for many years. Bandai will reissue the Voltes and then I will have it for 125.00. Still too high if you ask me, but to each his own.

Well, for me the most expensive is the GX-31 Voltes V. Got it for approximately USD 160. And that is the only SOC I bought so far ...

Voltes V, at 178 and change. Still looking for a GX-04. I didn't want GX-04S, I had the chance at getting that one for around 200 Shipped. Would probably end up paying over 200 for a GX-04 or GX-04B.

Majinga Z, That is expensive, I think I got GX-02 at Beaman's in Fremont for $105, which I thought I was raped and beaten when it happened.
Captain, Ouch I hope they used some KY...GX-18 I got a good deal, my seller buddy in HK used that as a lead in then he raped me.
45, GX-02R for $180, that is painful. I don't remember what I got mine for, but it wasn't a reissue and I didn't get it when it first came out, so I probably bent over pretty hard for it.
Chen don't feel bad, I paid almost $300 for mine, since it was retail from this place in snotty Burlingame, CA.
Sketcher, dude, yeah wait for the reissue, at this rate the remaining ones will require a Mega Millions win to acquire. But, I say $140> will be the reissue price, not counting the unscrupulous sellers artificially driving prices up because of the demand. Sun Entertainment has two right now, but he wants $289.99 for them.
Superfarter, Why not GX-04S, but GX-04? Aren't you getting less for the same amount of money?

Kinda helps to know that most collectors also overpaid for a certain item at one point...makes me not feel that bad about overpaying for some pieces. always thought i was the only one paying retail.
Thumbs up to people that hook us up with deals!!

paid $172 for gx-31, voltes v. shipped. i think the 160-180 price range is fair. you can't really find lower than that. probably the orig. release price was around $130 at least w.out shipping.
but my probably most expensive purchase will be the SOC ideon.

Thumbs up to people that hook us up with deals!! Absolutely. I realized a long time ago that If I overpay once in a while, it kind of helps the Toy Karma to get that next good deal. I've been very fortunate overall with the SOC; I was focusing my die-cast collection on Mazinger when GX-01 was released, so I've been buying most of them new at retail. I figure my overpriced Dragun (and now GX-06) were balanced out by the sweet deals I got on Gx-09, 11, and 12 ($25, $17{a replacement later at $25}, and $30) when they were released.

$536.00 (including shipping and handling) for GX-13R... now you see why I was bi***ing about this a while ago in comparison to the original GX-13... they're both the same, really. ;D ;D ;D

I think that we over paid for my GX-05 as well--over $200 when it first came out.
