Hi Chen. Thanks for sharing the link. I LIKE, I LIKE, I LIKE!!! I am a fan of Xabungle (even though I have never heard of the robot prior to its release)!

This says Soul of Iron.... Does this mean that this is not a Soul of Chogokin GX release?

I am excited about GX-35. It will be a nice companion to my Xabungle.
Okay, this is coming from a guy who said that he will "End his SOC Collection" after Voltes V....
I am not saying that I will definitely get it or anything.... But if someone gives it to me as a gift, I will not turn it down.
I know that I will get Gunbuster for Christmas or Birthday (this all depends on when BBTS ships the robot).

Is this to scale with GX-27?

I feel really bad for hurting people's feelings with my negative feedback about the latest SOC lines. You see.... I have no other venue to express how I feel about my beloved collection than here. My family and friends do not understand and so I can't really say anything to them. This board is where I let it all out and I thought that it was okay to do it here. I know that I may have gone overboard by mentioning "the end of my SOC collection" numerous times. But I am really quite happy that my SOC addiction has come to an end or at least has slowed down quite a bit. This is not to encourage anyone to stop collecting. I just feel like I need to move on and I wanted to let you guys know it. Or this may simply be just a change on my collection habit. I feel now that I am going to be a really selective SOC buyer (I will get Gunbuster as I mentioned).
This is just a change that I need to express here. Thanks for letting me say/write things off of my chest.

It's funny how I have been (and still is) accused of being "closed minded." How could this be? I've acquired all of the SOC line from GX01 to GX31. I didn't know all of them. And because of that, I started to explore. Example: I bought the Zambot, Tetsujin and Evangelion dvd's. What lured me to get the ones I didn't know were their awesome look and feel--first and foremost.
I got this visceral/gut feeling of repulsion when I saw GX-32 Gold Lightan, GX-33 Leopardon, and GX37 King Joe--I didn't get this sensation from any of the first 31 releases. With this in mind, I don't think that my decision not to get the three mentioned could be attributed purely on my not willing to open my mind.
On the other hand, I find Gunbuster to be really cool and I know that I will get this soon. I don't know anything about Gunbuster but I am willing to have it be a part of my collection. It looks great, what can I say (This despite me declaring to end my SOC collection)?

I know that lots of people have or are complaining about the recent SOC releases:
- GX-32 Gold Lightan - GX-33 Leopardon - GX37 King Joe
Okay, so I am one of them. In my opinion, I feel that there is now less robots to do for the SOC line and so Bandai is releasing just about anything. I didn't complain at all about the releases from GX01 to GX31. I found them all great looking, hence buying all of them. But lately, the ones that are being released seem less desirable. Aside from the fact that I do not know any of them; aesthetically, they are not pleasing to the eye. When you have no history with these robots or characters, the way they look is the only way you can judge them.
On the other hand, despite saying that I will end my SOC collection after GX31... I now am planning on getting Gunbuster (my spouse is actually getting it for me for Christmas or birthday--I am not supposed to know this). I have no clue about Gunbuster but I want it because I find it to look really cool.
In short, myself and the folks who do not support the newer releases do not mean to offend anyone with our strong opinions against Gold Lightan, Leopardon and King Joe. We just find them hokey looking.

I finally transformed my Ideon into its 3 ship mode. Lots of fun. My 20th Anniversary Optimus Prime inspired me to do it (this robot is so play-friendly).

I find the Ideon to be too boxy-looking (not in a cool retro look). The robot reminds me of a bad late 70's or early 80's boxy car design. I believe that Voltes V is older and I find Voltes to have more of a contemporary design. I would absolutely hate this robot if it does not have a lot of die-cast. Without holding it, Ideon looks like a cheap, all plastic toy to me.
Okay enough Ideon bashing because I do quite like the robot, expecially with its gun. Ideon just do not have the instant appeal to me like Gunbuster or Dancouga. I was immediately awed by the other two robots I mentioned.

I finally opened and assembled my Ideon. It took me forever to be able to attach the trunk to the hips/legs. Then after finally being able to do it, I find that the upper body tends to either lean forward or backwards--very unstable. Then on closer inspection, I further realized that I don't really like red (I've been stating this). Sure Ideon is big and has lots of metal... But I was still not impressed.
Everything changed after I had Ideon pose with the huge gun! The robot suddenly became BAD ASS!!! Okay, maybe bacause the red was less... And it also helps that the gun beams blue light. I now really like Ideon. I typically don't display the gadgets and extra stuff on my display. But this is an exception because I wouldn't like Ideon otherwise.
I now look forward to turning them into individual ships. But I may not since I had a challenging time assembling it.
Honestly, I am sooooo glad that I didn't pay over $200 for this robot (It's not worth that much to me). Boy, am I lucky to only have paid $135 through statuetoys.com (the fair price for this). INHO, Ideon does not even come close to GunBuster and Dancouga (my two favorite SOC's so far).
It's funny how Voltes V and Mazinger Z are not my favorite SOC's--they are the ones I am most familiar with. It goes to show that good design makes everything worth it (this refers to my fav SOC's).

I just got my Ideon from Staturetoys. I am so happy and Daniel from the store has been awesome.
Oh yeah, do not have stuff hipped to your PO Box. I just learned the hard way... I had my Ideon initially mailed to my box--they had to re-route... I'll spare the gory details. Anyways, it is here and I will have a fantastic weekend.
Feedback will follow soon...

I had a lengthy talk with Daniel from statuetoys.com the other day. He still has not received the Ideons--he is expecting it at the end of the month. I assume that we'll get our long awaited robot in July. I hope.... Daniel is a really nice guy.
is BetaToys in the U.S.?
