160$ is a fine price for Ideon. I paid something similar for my first Ideon. Then I paid $220 a month or two later to get a second one really fast; which either shows you how much I like that toy, how impatient I can be, or some combination thereof.
Ideon is the only SOC I have multiples of. Actually, I'm pretty sure it's the only toy of any kind I own more than one of. I love my Ideons.
Also, I would be remiss if I did not point out that in Soviet Russia, Ideon puts off buying you.

Actually... isn't that the GNMA Regnant from Gundam 00 S2? Well, I guess you could say that, ...if you wanted to get hyper-technical about it.

That's Marmaduke II, the armored form of a sentient robot named Marmaduke who is arguably the main character in a very silly mecha anime called Justice Fight Runaways. I've only seen the first episode and it was mostly too silly to be interesting but the fight where Marmaduke captured the crooks in a pancake factory was positively hysterical.

It's real. There WILL be a Bandai SOC Daitarn 3.
The only question is when they will release the thing.

what I wanna know is if this whole Daitarn 3 release real? seen the blueprints, seen sketches etc but are these photos Bandai information or just everyone assuming they come from Bandai.. I am itchy all over waiting for sweet D3 and if this all turns out to be not true, I will probably lose it. I am way to hyped for this release. my original Daitarn 3 was given to my little cousin years back (or taken) and when I confronted him about it he says its always been his and his mother backs him up and won't give it back.. Meanwhile he's too young to have received this.. I got it from my uncle in the 80's when he wasn't even born yet... anyways...Daitarn holds some childhood memories and a SOC would ease the pain of losing the original. Hope this is not a cruel internet rumor The unfairness of your story stirs anger and sadness in my soul. Be patient. Bandai WILL release the Daitarn SOC eventually. I suspect it will be late 2009 or early 2010 at the very soonest though. Probably more like midway through 2010.

We've known for a while now that GX-45 doesn't transform.
They'll very likely make another Maz fairly soon that comes with the batwing scrander and does transform, but GX-45 is just a new poseable Mazinger with classic-style scrander.

Wha?!? Hm. What toy line I wonder. SOC? Could it just be a Robot Damashii figure? SOC would be awesome...

... But my biggest beef are the SOC's with retracting legs, especially Gaiking which will turn "Dorf" if you look at it funny. Put some kind of push buttom lock like MP-01. !!!! Yes. This. This is the most important thing. Ideon and Xabungle would also benefit from such a system, as I'm sure would other SOC's. It would keep the legs from retracting on their own. And it would also relieve the hips and other joints of the pressures associated with forcing the legs in and out during each transformation. (I know there have been scary reports on this board of Xabungle hips breaking while sliding the legs one way or the other.)

Yeegads! Is that Mazinger transforming into a huge Rocket Punch??? Holy frick. That is what it's doing, isn't it? I dig that new take on Groizer. I'd love that tubby thing to get an SOC.

and no rocket punch action? This is lame. Why do people keep saying this? Even if you couldn't see the button that launches the rocket punch in that kneeling pose pic, Bandai would hardly make an all-new Maz and leave out spring-loaded rocket punch.

... However, I 'm not diggin' the new elbow joints. I think they should've done something similar to the Aoshima's Getter 1 joints - where they remain hidden and you must pull on the joint and extend it to bend the arm. They look good extended as well and do not have to modify the forearms at all - meaning they remain in one piece. Ack. Ick. No. The Aoshima elbows are silly looking. As are the elbows on the recent GX-44 Tetsujin. The elbows on the new Maz are the right way to do superbot elbows; enough movement without looking weird when straightened or bent. Sure, you can see the elbow joint, but so what? It is a toy after all.

Hm, I've heard about crushed boxes from lots of sources now. I wonder why that never seemed to be a problem for the Brave Gokin Legioss and Tread which has virtually the same size box. (And I imagine the same cardboard thickness but I don't have the Calibur yet. Anyhow, I'm looking forward to plenty of pics and thoughts, Eriku.

I'll be posting some pics and thoughts probably next weekend (well, I should have it by then). I'll make sure to take a couple of shots with it next to the old 1/55, or more accurately, Roadbuster. I can't wait to see those pics.

I've never seen the show, but I have seen screencaps and artwork and such. Why does this thing look different from all the pics I've seen before? Is it a version of the mech from later in the series? Or from an OAV or something?

Great pics, Roboto. I'd love to see more. But what's wrong with the QC?

It's more of docking rather than combining. Just like Mazinger Z's Hover Pileder and Daimos' Triper 75S. Mazinger Zeta is a robot, not a longshoreman.
