Nippon-Yasan is really taking full advantage of the demand for this figure. Not only do we have to pay upfront, but with each time it's announced to be out of stock then back in stock, the prices increase. It's ridiculous to think that earlier this morning it was just under 30,000 yen and now it's up to 42,500 yen.
I was waiting for the preorder to start over at HLJ, but sadly I got distracted and didn't remember until two and a half hours later. It's ridiculous.

Hey guys.
Since this is only the thread I could find regarding the Metal Action heads and bodies, I wanted to ask about something.
How many of you own the Metal Action Grendizer body for Dizer Shooter (Grendizer Head)?
I noticed that I could not find any listings of one for sale or even a sold listing on eBay. I wanted to know the current value of it and how limited of a production run was it. I do own one that I preordered from HLJ and was delayed over 6 months due to the QC or production issues they had with it. The one I have has two problems. The left leg was crushed under the weight of the body because I did not use the included metal stand that came with it. I also broke a part of the plastic that is part of the stand by mistake, but it shouldn't have been so easy to break. I am considering putting mine up for sale but I have no idea of the current market value for it.
Any help would be appreciated.

I had a good feeling about this one since I saw the first photos. I don't like how pricey these tiny Sentinel figures are. But it seems that you actually get what you pay for. In that regard I believe every collector would be having a sense of relief.
HLJ just shipped my order so I should have it by next week. Hopefully sooner.

Swordfish will look great next to the S.H Figuarts Spike that I preordered. No brainer for me. I am a big fan of Cowboy Bebop so this piece is a must have.

Shin Getter-1 anyone? I believe that one has been overlooked for the SOC lineup for far too long.
Not only is it an awesome design, it's also very popular. I have no idea why Bandai would go to Emperor and skip Shin Getter-1.

GTMQ8, Thanks for the review and photos. I never thought I'd say this, but based on your photos I think I like the face on the GX-70SP better than the face on the GX-70. The eyes on the GX-70SP for sure look bigger, which is more anime accurate in my opinion, but that's not the only thing. Overall, I do like the GX-70 better though. The face does look so much better here. I think it all looks so much better due to the paint as I stated in my quick review. I only wish they had taken extra care with the paint. Otherwise this figure would be a 10/10 for me.

Hey guys Happy New Year! So a little over a week ago I got my hands on the GX-70SP. I managed to find time to take photos and review the figure on New Year's Eve. I am both impressed and disappointed by this release and I will tell you why and show a few photos. First off...since most people already have the original GX-70 Mazinger-Z, I won't bother with going into the full details. Accessories and weapons wise they are identical. The key difference being the paint job. I have always wanted an SOC Mazinger-Z to have anime colors. What super robot fan doesn't want his pricey chogokin robot to be screen accurate? Well, the good news is the SP delivers on that front and then some. What it doesn't deliver however, is Bandai's historic accurate paint application and quality control. The paint on this thing is so bad that you wonder what went wrong? How could an exclusive release like this look like it was painted by an amateur? The head in particular is really awful. I posted close up photos and you can clearly see how bad the paint on the eyes and other parts of the head like the horns is. I attached the Jet Scrander only once for the photos and that left his stomach and part of his chest with paint that is completely scratched off. I was not rough with it or anything. So if you have this release and want to keep it mint, then I suggest you never attach the Jet Scrander on him. I want Bandai to release more of these. I know that they showcased an SP Great Mazinger and there could possibly be plans to do the same with Grendizer...which I would be super thrilled for. However...it would be a shame if those also had similar paint app problems and paint quality issues. I really hope they do a better job next time. SOC GX-70SP Mazinger-Z D.C Anime color version Pros: 1-Authentic screen accurate color scheme 2- Comes with all the classic accessories 3-Very nice box art Cons: 1-Really bad paint application and details 2-Weak paint that is easy chipped off/scratched

I pre-ordered mine from HLJ. Didn't want to sleep on this one. Captain Future was one of the very first Sci-Fi shows that I watched as a kid. I don't like HL Pro. As a matter of fact, I hate them. But I had to get this ship.

Great Mazinger anime color is confirmed. I saw it in a video on FB so I’m sure photos are coming soon.

I preordered one a few days ago. No hesitation as I always love the Anime colors and I always wondered why they never bothered to make them as a GX-01 variant or any of the many variants in the SRC line. But this looks even better because of the Dynamics Classics design. Very excited to get Great Mazinger SP and hoping for a Grendizer SP as well!

This one? When I first saw the prototype photos I knew that some Grendizer fans would be divided by it. When I saw the final product photos and the spazer transformation gimmick, I realized that even more Grendizer fans would be divided by it. I made a post on Instagram about it and I have had followers comment that they liked it and other followers that they hated it.
So what about me? being a fan of Grendizer for over 34 years I can easily say that I like it. I may not be %100 sold on the gimmick, but I usually reserve judgement for when the figure is actually in hand. That's when I get to actually handle and appreciate it up close. I preordered both versions just in case I end up not liking the spazer version and selling it.

Based on the event prices. Black Megazord is $100 cheaper and exclusive Rangers are $30 cheaper at the event than at online retailers/eBay. King Brachion is not among the exclusives so price will be different depending on which shop you get it from. With Japan being the cheapest option as is expected.
I have never considered getting one. Unlike the Megazord or Dragonzord which were always a possibility in the SOC line. I did not see King Brachion coming. That being said, in order to have a complete set, I preordered one anyway. Do I have the space for it? Nope. Do I want it just because it's so cool? Yup.

Great pics ! Drill Spazer and Marine Spazer will have zero die-cast... But sold at chogokin price, needless to say ! Thank you Bandai ! Thanks. It's a shame but I do love that they're accurate. I still have the old set which is die-cast for all 3 spazers so I can live with that. I can't wait to get the final set and try out the Drill and Marine spazer on Grendizer. It's going to be a lot of fun, especially Drill Spazer which has always been a favorite of mine.

Nice Pics! I too really like this set. Looks fantastic. I love the accuracy and attention to detail. Bandai may have robbed us of die-cast content in the ships but they certainly spared no expense in the design and finishing process.

I am waiting to receive my S.H Figuarts Green Ranger (Dragon Ranger) before I take photos of the Dragonzord. It arrived two weeks ago and I think it will take about a week for the Ranger figures to arrive. I hope the pictures turn out well.

The SOC that took the world by storm and caused endless regret for those who decided not to get one during preorder. I regret not getting two! Same. I wished I got my preorder back then. Now I am waiting im the almost vain hopes of a reissue. I have a friend who recently paid $800 to get his hands on a sealed GX-71. He's a die-hard Voltron fan but in his defense he was not aware of the figure or had started this hobby back when it was first released.

Preordered one. I was planning on getting the original SOC model which can still be found mint for $200-250. But this is so much better! It’s one of my all time favorite anime series.
