Time hasn't been kind to Miwi, poor girl she was so beautiful in her youth Hiroshi on the other hand hasn't aged a bit in 50 years lol Maybe, because this was his true form? BTW I always loved Hiroshi's Cyborg form and I wanted it to be shown more, usually the only way to see him in this form was during his transformation in Kotetsu Jeeg's head and that was only for a fraction of a second, until finally there was one episode were his transformation was interrupted and he fought pretty much during the whole episode in his cyborg form, I was like "Hell Yeah!"

Koji wasn't supposed to be in the series at all. It's Toei (and the sponsors) who wanted him back and Grendizer to look more like a Mazinger. They probably weren't impressed by Gattaiger. At least, that's the story I've heard. Very interesting story, I've google'd that Gattaiger and it makes perfect sense. it's like the missing link or something like that, I bet that was Go Nagai's original vision and what we ended up getting (Grendizer) was a mix of Go Nagai's vision plus some focus tested tinkering by Toei's hand. Would love to read more about that "turbulent" period.

^ lol I don't know what was Go Nagai thinking, The heroic and inspirational Alpha-male Koji Kabuto became a joke character in Grendizer, maybe Koji was on medication for post-traumatic stress disorder caused by the Mazinger years. Thank god he was redeemed in Mazinkaiser, it's like the Grebdizer thing never happened.

you got the raw HQ versions? of all the 46 episodes? the ones from nyaa torrents? I thought that torrent was dead. for some one to subtitle it it's going to be a titanic job, I am fluent in spanish but like I said the series was 24 episodes long in south america, maybe in Italy the whole 48 episodes were showed. I hope some fansub group gets to translate it, if I happen to find any translation I'll let you know, I also want to watch the complete series myself, I only have the 24 episodes that were broadcasted in South America in spanish.

TheMazingerZ: When I said the best SRC I meant build wise, it looks quite impressive and very polished in that aspect, but I know that the best is very subjective, and actually my favorite one is also the origial Mazinger Z actionawesome: I think the only one so far that said his SRC Shin Getter had some floppiness was ninjahandz but even him retracted and clarified a little bit

Incredible series featuring an Elvis Presley look-alike This one and Gaiking are ultra difficult to find in english, in south america these 2 series along with Starzinger and Magne robo Gakeen were showed as part of program called "Festival of Robots" it's easier to find these versions in DVD quality however they are in spanish and if I am not mistaken these series were somehow shortened and instead of the 40 something episodes they originally had, they were shortened to 24~26 episodes for the south american market. I really hope that someday we get the entire series with english subs and in awesome quality, not only for Kotetsu Jeeg but for Gaiking, Starzinger and Magne Robo Gakeen as well.

So how often do you guys re-watch these series?, I am thinking about re-watching all of them in chronological order, it's been a while since I've watched these shows and I am pretty sure there are a few things I've forgotten about. It's going to take me a while to re-watch all that thou, family and kids plus work etc. Also while I have the entire Mazinger Z and Grendizer series in DVD quality, I've never managed to get a hold of Great Mazinger in a decent quality with japanese voice and english subs.

Well as I said before, I received my SRC Shin Getter 1 yesterday, got to unbox it yesterday night and did some testing and comparing with my other SRC Robots, I am happy to report that this is quite possible the best SRC so far, it is a very impressive and imposing robot, tall and sturdy, and above all thank god no floppiness. Mazinkeiser has a very tough job now if he wants to dethrone Shin Getter as the best SRC

I would buy the heck of a SRC classic Kotetsu Jeeg it doesn't matter if is not magnetic, however I don't think I'd buy that abomination that is known as Kotetsushin Jeeg, that has to be one of the worst re-designs ever.

Super, please let us know if yours is floppy or not. I'm expecting mine from AmiAmi also. I'll do a quick run down on mine and report my likes and dislikes. That will include the level of floppiness. Couple of my SRCs did develop weak hips from moderate handling and posing so...Maybe Ninja's Shin G. got aged prematurely? Cool, I'll report back later today with impressions.

Next year has to be the year of Giant Robo, The Big O, Gaiking and some Jeegs in SRC form plus some emblematic enemies wouldn't hurt either. (Yes I know I am dreaming but c'mon people, let me dream )

I just got my SRC Shin Getter 1 from amiami, it came pretty fast, I ordered it last Thursday so I was kind of worried it would get stuck in customs or something (I am in Canada). Now I've heard that there is a new sort of decease that has been discovered and some SRCs are getting it, like most deceases it is named after the person who discovered it or suffered it first and so this decease is called : "The Ninja Floppiness", man I hope man Shin Getter doesn't suffer from it.

Hello guys, I was told in the "introduce yourself" thread that I could come here and beg for an awesome avatar, I understand if this is not possible at this time, but just in case I'd love to have a Mazinkaiser avatar, it doesn't matter what version of it.
Thank you very much in advance.
cheers!

Hello Gents, My name is Enrique and next month I'll be 40 I am originally from Venezuela but I moved, married and lived happily ever after in Canada, I grew up watching Mazinger Z and from the very first day I watched that show it has remained my favorite Super Robot and show of all time, I do like many other robots and shows specially from the 70's and 80's of course all Go Nagai's creations including Gaiking as well. I just started collecting the SRC series, before that I never really collected toys/figures, but I am really hooked on those robots, for me they're perfect since I can't really afford the most expensive SOC line and I kind of prefer the smaller size of the SRC, it's a nice combination of quality and price. I've been reading the board for a few weeks already and I amazed of the level of knowledge and passion you guys have for this, I've learned a ton already and hopefully I'll apply this knowledge to my collecting and future purchase, it cool I found a place to talk about this hobby, my wife just gives me the death stare when I am opening a new figure. Oh and I hope this hobby don't destroy my wallet. cheers!
