The legs aren't a deal breaker for me, but I might have an idea for the legs to be removable and replaced with a blank one without compromising the look, longevity of joints and not needing sh*t tons of covers for the legs. Bandai could have put all the left and right legs on a removable block on the bottom that houses the legs and just replace it with a blank one. This would still mean having extra parts but it won't be as many as the other suggested and the legs won't need to be removed separately as each block house a pair and can be numbered easily if its front or back. It can be designed a bit differently but with the same concept but doing this won't compromise the joints. Here's an illustration of the idea. But I am certain it will add more costs to making this figure if they were to design a way to remove the legs.

I hope they redesign the other go nagai bots and give them the movie proportions so this new soc mazinger doesn't look odd standing next to the older versions. I personally think they had already done a great job with classics such as GX-08 Aphrodai, GX-10 BOSS BOROT, GX-27 Gaiking, Garada, Doublas etc. Ironically, it was their SOC Mazinger Z figures that I never liked, until GX-70. Finally I will have a Mazinger Z SOC that will not look odd standing next to these other classic SOCs. Still, it'll be well received if they redo Great Mazinger, Grendizer, and do a classic SOC Jeeg. I have no issues with the other older soc's like the angels and the other robots as I feel they are still good. I just like the idea of a matching new sculpt of soc Grendizer and Great Mazinger and even the getters.

Yeah that's definitely a faceplate with the eyes in "off" mode. Disappointed a bit that they could'nt pull of this gimmick by inserting the pilder to make the eyes turn yellow. Well anyways this is still my favorite soc mazinger sculpt. I hope they redesign the other go nagai bots and give them the movie proportions so this new soc mazinger doesn't look odd standing next to the older versions.

I do like some of their Masterpiece line. But They lost me when the direction of dismissing diecast parts on MP line took effect.... Tho There are some giving credence to the excuse of forsaking it for the sake of toy engineering, i never bought that theory. Yeah now that I'm starting to collect mp's I'm really disappointed with the lack of diecast considering the prices of these figures. Even my src's feel more weighty than my car bots. I also don't believe the bs reason for engineering on not havng metal parts as I've been studying these figures too hoping to design my own version. For one they could still use metal parts in the joints to make the smaller ones more durable and still give the figure a good feel in the weight department. This reason made me buy some knock offs of some mp's that I feel are overpriced for their small size and lack of diecast parts. If you compare the price of mp star saber which is a big figure and has some die cast to some of the small plastic autobots, I see there is a discrepancy on how they price their figures as star saber is only a bit more expensive.

i think i prefer him with plastic hair instead. Maybe a chia pet version would be better lol. Still having fur is debatable as some would love the real feel of hair than plastic.

I consider this one of the best soc combiners that is also highly playable! It feels so sturdy and im not afraid of breakin it as the plastic and metal parts are all allocated to where it counts. Indeed. Playable and secure, yet very simple and clean. Also among my top SOC combiners. He also holds a special place in my childhood as the old toy was one of my most wanted figures that I didn't get along with voltes! Too bad we missed that amazon deal that Chachi was able to get at $35!! Would have bought 3 at that price!

Unfortunately my eyes are attracted to metals objects like robots and guns.....imagine those bazooka's on sayaka after a few decades! The ray gun will still stay the same unlike those soft balls of bouncyness

I did say that the original had development costs that would bump up the prices and it's unfair to compare the price to a ko but the manufacturing costs of it isn't far fetched comparing a 13 inches well made figure to a 5 inch figure with barely any metal in it. Given that the prices of the srcs have increased I'm just saying Bandai should give us more justification to buy a figure like the src giant robo at 100 dollars. You can still buy the yamato giant robot at 95 dollars which is bigger and has far more die cast content. Anyway lets just drop this topic as it's a bit of a sensitive topic. I do get your point but it doesn't mean I'm complaining about the new soc Mazinger Z. The last couple src releases just really disappointed me. I feel you bro, im still on the edge about this new SOC Mazinger Z. Last time i bought the SrC Mazinger was his 2nd release. Ive waited for a good chance for a reasonable price. Im not sure if Bandai will lower down the price for these new SOC Mazinger Z. In regards to the new soc Mazinger Z i honestly feel it's worth the price and worth including in our collections as it's the best iteration of an soc mazinger released. There are some bandai figures that I feel cheated on but there are times that the price is worth paying for. Almost all his parts are made of metal and I really love the sculpt. It's not everyday you get exited for a new mazinger z. It's also possible that bandai might release a new mazinger z based on this sculpt if this soc mazinger is a hit.

Really would feel bad for paying even 75 dollars on src giant robo for that lack of die cast. I mean sure it can be expensive given the development and manufactuturing costs but when i compare it with my ko mpp10 prime which is waaaay bigger and has die cast and only cost me 60 dolloars (also probably costs 30 dollars to make) which is really well made I sometimes think that the pricing on most toys these days are overblown. Sad to say but a KO is a carbon copy of the original one. There was no engineering or designing involved. They might cost cheaper and well made alright but still incomparable with the genuine one. Im not saying i dont buy KO but to compare their prices with legit ones seems far fetched. I did say that the original had development costs that would bump up the prices and it's unfair to compare the price to a ko but the manufacturing costs of it isn't far fetched comparing a 13 inches well made figure to a 5 inch figure with barely any metal in it. Really disappointed to hear this, but at least I can spend my money on other figures. What a wasted opportunity for Bandai as an src jeeg scales well with the soc's.

when has there been a soc in the last 4 or so years that has sold out immediately from preo and stayed sold out? i cant think of one at all. they are always easy to get. even very late in the game. the most difficult one that i can remember is voltes 40th but they were rereleased shortly and the shelves were stocked. macross on the other hand is nearly impossible to get without a preo but soc/src is a walk in the park. True, sometimes you get a higher price during the rush to get one. I always wait and get it later, only figure I pre ordered was the 40th anniversary voltes as it always sells out here.

I agree with the shoulders plus now we've seen the almost perfect mazinger sculpt on the soc the other mazinger z's look bland.
