Interesting how they did the inner tray art insert for this but not the gx-71 which makes me believe even more that Golion wasn't too popular in Japan. Either way I'm excited for this. I love how the Voltron boxart will have him holding the sword from a picture in the dairugger Japanese art book. They do the inner tray art so randomly that it is hard to see any real pattern to it. The only one I can see is if they happen to be able to make the tray lay out in the same basic configuration as the old Popy/Bandai DX's then they might complete the look with the bordering art panel. GX-71's tray layout was nothing like the classic Popy so they probably never thought to do it. Also note that on most of the ones that they included that insert, it was for "R" Renewal versions that were specifically referencing the classic Popy colors. Volt in a Box, God Sigma and God Mars in more toy'ish colors etc. Even then the theory doesn't hold up to all cases. Bandai is just that freaking random.

Hey, I actually spotted one in the wild at retail yesterday. If you are Georgia local and still looking for one, "Character World" in the Mall of Georgia has or had one on the shelf. Didn't notice the price, but safe bet is at the upper end of the MSRP range.

thats an old photo, why you guys are hyped lol
and i think its a statue not a figure, exactly like Ankoku Daishogun
On the bottom right corner of the poster, it says "and more..." I hope That can possibly mean a surprise..the surprise can be DX Grendizer?!? perhaps?!? Also, if I were the Bandai big wig, I'd show up D.C. God Mazinger, D.C. Jeeg and D.C. Getter Dragon at this event...all of them. It's "that" time.
i saw it bro, but the DX SOC line is one of the biggest and most important line so including it in "and more" is a very odd move
also Bandai stopped showing prototypes long ago now they just smack us with the %90 finished product
It's a 3d printed, prototype mock up. You can see some of the 3d printing lines in the blue areas of the legs. So there are obviously no working knees or elbows on what we see. We do see some sort of shaft attaching the arm to the shoulder. But that might just be a brass or metal connecting rod to hold the model together. Whatever it's final form, what we see in that picture is not a product (unless Bandai suddenly opened a Garage Kit offshoot) (Actually I mispoke! Bandai did in fact open a Garage Kit line years ago for highly specialized Gunpla offerings. It was the EX line of rare and oddball kits.)

Hello guys, Thank you to everyone for the answers. I agree with KumaStyle....is more convenient buy another Voltes GX-31 . Maybe I can get the blade....Any idea about the red hilt?? Thank you for your time Keep in mind that sword you are looking at on E-Bay was a special exclusive bonus item on the first release. It was an extra Die Cast Metal sword. It is most noteworthy as being to heavy for the figure to hold. Although I understand it makes a nice letter opener. It's not the actual chromed plastic sword that ships with every GX-31 variant.

who came up with this idea? re releasing GX02R but repackaging it as TN Tokyo is a GREAT idea. that is what chogokin fans are waiting for!!! It's actually not a bad idea to use it as an on site exclusive for their signature store. A souvenir for those that visit the factory store. And it is almost perfect for that. It's a classic SOC, an entry point for a collector. It doesn't take any new engineering to produce. Just a quick production run. It's not something that will piss off the main collectors and fans for being something they can't get. And it and GX-01R are probably the two most defining robots for Tamashii Nations.

There was a rumor that they might do a Cherno Alpha as well. Just no idea when?

If anyone who is having problems bought from a U.S. retailer contact bluefin so that they can walk you through a part replacement form. Sometimes it takes a month or two but you're gauranteed your replacement. I've had similar good experiences regarding that sort of thing if you purchased through HLJ. They are very good for CS and will get all the info from you and submit to Bandai for replacement of what is needed.

Package received and he is gorgeous. A perfect match for Maz Z. My only complaint is how stiff some of the joints are. (and not completely thrilled with how the double joints on the elbows work.) My biggest question is why is Great Maz so much cheaper than Maz Z was? They are really very similar in parts and engineering?
Also given how much he comes with, why didn't they include the standard red wings in their folded form on his back? I think this is the only Great Maz I own that doesn't have that little red backpack piece?

Thank you for all the great reviews. I'm both tempted and yet completely turned off by the fiddly nature of this transformation. I like complicated figures. Although I wish the end product was more articulated. It's not a subject that I have any real knowledge of or interest in. As cool and complicated as it looks, it looks like one I would spend half a day transforming once, then be terrified of ever touching again. I think this guy goes on the "Will purchase in a few months when it drops to clearance prices" list. It's not that it's not a nice figure. It's just one I can happily wait out and not be deeply regretful if the price never drops.

I am actually glad that Bandai's solid engineering pulled through. The Miracle Toys one looks flimsy as all hell and the various reviews back that up. Flimsy yes, but it still held that high side kick pose because of the hardware in it's hip joints. Here's hoping Bandai one ups it with their rich history of ever improving toy engineering... at the very least I'm hoping it can do a similar pose, something we can't pull off with the GX-71. While I'm not complaining as I love the weight with the figure in hand, there's always a part in most collectors I like to believe would love to have awesome hardware in our gokin toys that would enable us to put the toys through its paces of various dynamic postures ... The MM isn't that flimsy. It's actually pretty solid assuming you didn't get any or many QC problems. But GX-88 looks miles above it in terms of detail and function.

I'm gonna be honest. I love the fact that the finally made a getter combiner, it just they choose a getter I'm not interested in (and that is out of scale with the rest of my figures). They could have gone the safe route and done a regular figure, with some more die cast, but they choose to innovate. I appreciate that and I would change my regular getter 1 for a combiner getter 1 like this one for sure... They finally made a Getter Combiner... but the individual component ships are color coded trash heaps. All Kibble, no lines or style. No sleakness to them. There is nothing about them that you might be desired to "swoosh". (Swooshability is a key metric in spaceship design and marketing.)

Good to hear! What is the "external" metal count on her? I thought I heard Charles say, his chest, back cover, and bottom of her feet are metal. It's hard to say. It's actually designed more like a Metal Build, where most of the metal is internal armature with plastic armor over it. I believe top of the chest and the feet are the clearly metal external parts. All major joints are metal. And don't give up hope everyone. Word is Netflix is doing a Pacific Rim anime. They already placed a 2 season order.

Im a fan of sentai toys and I've been postponing leopardon a long time... (also battle fever J). With the re releases I haven't found cash to catch up with those two. Really love spiderman mecha! And its been going slowly up in price for almost a year... so yes it's time to get it A word of caution with Battle Fever J. It's a really neat Old School SOC. Almost solid metal and the array of die cast weapons is astonishing. But this is the one SOC that has a diminishing lifespan. The Robot's neck is unusual. It is sort of the opposite of how most double ball jointed action figure necks work. The physical balls are on the head and on the top of the body. The neck that receives them is a rubber piece. Not plastic. Rubber. The same rubber that they used to make the tank treads out of. See the problem? Yeah the neck will eventually decay go brittle and disintegrate leaving the robot decapitated.

Metal Build Zanda Cross (one can dream right lol)
At any other time I would dismiss this as a joke and pipe dream... put somebody is making a Goking Gekigangar 3. In the past 12-24 months or so we have seen our most absurd or long given up on wish lists become reality. So yeah, Metal Build Zanda Cross, because why not!

Hi everyone, here’s my video review for Getter Emperor. He making it seem so ... what's the word I'm looking for?... the opposite of easy? Yeah my enthusiasm is waning. This looks like a spending all day to get it into robot mode, and never ever attempt to transform it again!
