Reworking Boss Borot, Grendizer and Great Mazingers will guarantee income from many of us. Doing Kikaiju could also be tremendous income.... Last but not least, doing "western" robots like Pacific Rim and Iron Giant can also bring untold fortune for Bandai... If Bandai can gamble on utterly perplexing and ultimately money loseing characters like.....you know the ones im talking about, Bandai CERTAINLY can do SOC Iron Man or SOC Aliens Drop Ship. My first thoughts are Captain Franky of One Piece as well as the Space Battleship Yamato from the new series.

That would really suck if the SoC line died because of how poorly mishandled the last two Gaogaigar/Brave releases were. Soul of Chogokin Gaogaigar was solid but his add-ons are expensive for what they are and made SoC GGG into a statue. A good looking one mind you but a statue nonetheless. I think this is the year that one good robot pays for a ton of bad ones. GX-71 is going to make for a very good Christmas for the Bandai SOC team. Probably their best ever, given the history of the Popy. They could release SOC Hello Kitty DX and it still won't damage the line if released near Voltron. I do have to wonder. Getting a bit ahead of myself but what other lesser known classic anime mecha will Bandai do for their Soul of Chogokin after Voltron? I hear suggestions being Dairugger as well as possibly Bismark being a thing. I do wonder if there are any obscure anime mecha that have yet to be touched for a long long time.

Even though my GGG has some random flawed ratchets, its really good though. Goldy is also quite nice on its own, stable, clicky, and has some heft. The combined form is more of a statue thanks to nothing but gravity really, so not sure if "poorly mishandled" is something to blame Bandai for. On the other hand, GX-70 is a Mazinger Z is really disappointing. Nothing wrong with a Mazinger per se, but we had just recently got a few repaints less than a year ago. How many do we really need? Yeah. Not much one can do against physics. I do see a few Amazon reviews of Goldymarg being blasted for not doing much on his own and how toy-like he is compared to other Soul of Chogokin entries. Then there is the whole ridiculous size of the Marg Hand. I don't know if Bandai could have toned it down a bit in certain areas such as the legs or torso to help with the weight at least a little bit. The stand being static also makes it stuck to two poses. The Marg Hand connection and the basic Goldion Hammer pose. The Premium Exclusive Star Gaogaigar set did include a stand to make my fully armed Gaogaigar look amazing on the shelf with a more free flowing pose not stuck in the 90 angles of having the Marg hand more parallel or perpendicular to the overall frame of Gaogaigar.

I can't wait to transform Golion. I have a feeling it's going to be a lot like handling SOC Gaogaigar where you know you're in familiar territory, but you experience all of the refinement Bandai has brought to the transformation process. There will be that level of satisfaction that Bandai really did their homework on how to improve upon past attempts at Golion. Yeah. I cannot wait to see how various reviewers will set up their reviews for full-on nostalgia. I know Vangelus will most likely do something akin to a screen accurate transformation.

Well, at least for those who feared the SOC line was dead, you got two new SOC announcements almost back to back. That would really suck if the SoC line died because of how poorly mishandled the last two Gaogaigar/Brave releases were. Well if any of you have tried ordering bandai's DX chogokin under the macross line, sold out pre-orders within a 5-sec window isn't all that uncommon. Yes there are many cases where if you miss the preorder you are stuck with aftermarket prices. Hopefully it won't be the case with voltron, since SOC's generally don't sell out that fast after release, but it's not like there hasn't been precedent if it does sell out. Those DX Chogokin Macross releases are a real nightmare as places like BigBadToyStore cannot offer to sell them lest Harmony Gold does the old Cease and Desist. Add that with crazy fast selling preorders and even crazier after market prices, I almost wonder if it is even worth the hassle to get these newer Valkyrie figures. And God Forbid you ever want the Super Parts for your Valkyries.

Cannot wait for the reviews on this guy. Some reviewers I expect to hear first are the likes of Kumastyle, Chachipower of Rocket Punch Army and Odean. The construction of this new SoC looks top notch and I hope the paint of all things do not scuff as easily as the SoC Gaogaigar did. Seriously, are all Soul of Chogokin products this easy to scuff paint-wise? None of my GGG's paint has scuffed. You must be playing with yours way more than I do. The mane part of Gaigar's head can scuff with even one transformation via Final Fusion. And then there is the scuffing of Ghaleon's mane that can happen if one is not careful when transforming to and from Gaigar.

Bismarck is dream hopefully like Golion dream became true this one will, for me this year is a good one full of awesome releases I see Vehicle Voltron/Dairugger being brought out first before Bismark. Not dissing on Bismark. I have seen the CollectionDX review of the guy and he looks pretty amazing. Sorta has the Metal Hero mecha feel.

This will be like GX-68 and I suspect plenty will be available come release I wouldn't bet on that. Voltron has way more nostalgic value than GaoGaiGar. Yeah, even as a Brave Fanboy, the Brave license is not that well known in the Western World and Gaogaigar has the most saturation out of the Braves. Even though I do enjoy the J-Decker series for its character development for their Brave Robots and human interactions and Might Gaine for overall best Brave toyline.

I guess I am going to have to wait to get mine. Oh well, I was thinking of saving $300 for either a Legacy Titanus or a 2nd purchase of SoC Gaogaigar to display with.

Isn't that thing all plastic? Yes. No diecast. And the original main release mold is $400.

No Blazing Sword Effect? That's disappointing. However everything else is really nice. Need to buy two of these. They needed something to release as an upgrade pack as mail order only so we can pay almost was much for it as the Voltron himself. Ughhhhh. Don't remind me. I had to really struggle to get the last Bandai Premium item for an SoC.

Man. This piece does look very tempting. I never got to grow up watching Voltron in its hayday but man is this new SoC beyond tempting.

Oh go kill yourself Toynami. And to be fair, you are already doing a good job with that. Cannot wait for Bandai to wipe their asses with the dollars you are screwed out of.

All this time I thought CMs was dead.
Do you think they can get back to the Eldoran releases? I would love their take on Gosaurer.

I know that the last two Gaogaigar releases weren't that we'll designed in terms of playability but was the SoC Gaogaigar release that bad? GaoGaiGar itself is a beloved SOC release. It was Goldymarg that everyone was lukewarm at best on due to it being considered a $150 accessory that gimped the playability of GGG and was way too aware of the fact that 95% of its buyers would leave it in Hammer Mode. That I can more than understand and hope that IF there will be more Brave releases, the figures they choose will be more sensible to real life design restrictions of making something in an anime into a functional toy. Those GGG accessories are only for the biggest of Brave Fanboys in which I consider myself as such. If only I can muster the amount of cash to get some other key figures.
