Very cool, Sketcher. He's got a more 'vintage' look compared to the Popy/Bandai Ultra's (if that makes any sense?). I've only really been aware of the Grip Leo for about a month and already I'm jealous Any chance of a comparison/group shot with your other vintage Ultra's? Thanks for the pics and congratulations on the score ;D (btw, anyone have pics of the Eidai Grip Zaborger pictured on the side of the box? I'd be interested to see that)

Thanks, Gort. I can accommodate the group shot. I'll try to get that posted tonight. I understand what you you mean about the "vintage" look. This one is chunkier and more traditional looking in that Popy Mazinger style. This was a nice find for a 30 year old toy in great condition. Now I need to find the Takatoku. As impossible as that may be, I will remain focused.

Hope it's OK to put up images of other stuff from the Ultraman Universe....Well, at least I think this is from Ultraman ....I bought it because I like the look of it... ;D It's a ZAT vehicle I bought about 6 years ago on a trip to Japan....it's aprox. 12 inches long and is friction drive.

Haha good stuff, I love seeing these wacky modified cars.
I'm pretty clueless on most of the vehicles etc from the Ultraman universe so pics would be good to see.

Somemore vehicles from Ultraman....these aren't mine btw, i just like collect images of toys I find interesting.... A tin MAT Porsche....pretty rusty bit still looks OK. Hmmm, don't think they drove a Porshe in the series though.....but hey, you gotta' get as much use out of those toy presses as possible. Ultraman getting ready for a start at the Indy race in what must be his factory backed car... ;D A bit weird but kinda cool at the same time.... This is THE Ultraman car though...made by one of the coolest names in Japanese toy history, BULLMARK....the mear mention of that name and you automatically think classic toy!!!

One of my latest additions, and not mentioned here yet; 1:12th scale Ultraseven by Banpresto. Similar in size and articulation to the Romando figures - 6" tall (150mm) approx 12 points of articulation - but with a cloth costume over the articulated base figure (not removable). I love these type of figures as they offer a nice change from the limited posability of vinyls, but at a fraction of the price of the 1:6th scale figures. I think he dates to around 1996-97 and there appear to be two other figures in the line, Ultraman and Dyna. Finally a comparison shot with a Bandai vinyl Ultraseven and Fireman by Romando.

That is a very cool figure, Gort! I guess I missed your post on that one until today. Those stickies get ignored after a while, I guess. Shuwattt!
