Looking for a bit of Help. Theres an Action Works Zoffy Ultraman available on HLJ and I wanted to know more about it. Is it plastic ? How tall is it ? Any info is great. www.hlj.com/product/MEG80818 |

Interesting, thanks for bringing it up. 115mm (about 4 1/2 inches) tall, from the price I'd say it must be plastic.
They're also doing Ultraman Mebius.

Nice! That Zoffy is sweet. Almost the same articulated points as the Bandai diecast. Side note - Check this Leo out: www.hlj.com/product/BNP44915-BNo description of size though. Anyone have info on that one? I loves me some Leo! |

I think thats from the new Banpresto Big Size Sofubi series, 280mm (11 inches) tall. Leo and Ultraseven look to be the first two.

I got an Bandai Ultrman DX it was taped shut but only came with the Flash type suit no extra heads or anything? kinda of disappointed. I got the impression that all three suits and heads and hands were supposed to be in the box.
Can anyone confirm that?
I already had the blue suit , so I'm still missing the Strong suit and extra stuff.
Also I just got 2 of the Magic Q Ultraman very nice still missing the 1st release ultraman with the extra heads.
Heres what i have so far for Ultraman.
SOC:
ultraman , ultraman taro , ultraman ace
ultraman jack, ultraman nexus , ultraman seven
Medicom :
Ultraman Type A , Ultraman Type C ,
Ultraseven
Ohtsuka kikaku :
ultraman vs Z-ton
Magic Q :
Ultraman jack ver 2 , ultraman tiga
Bandai :
ultraman max , ultraman dyna - Flash type /blue .

Ah, I miss this post because it's been sticky for so long and I learned to not look. Never held that one, but seen it in the package. All plastic. Nice looking figure, but I keep my focus in other areas. |

sketcher, your "standard" figure is really outdated, that's why. The Bemlar up there is the mold that's been used since the late 90s or so.
Very few original molds (as in, 1984 Bandai Ultra Collection original) have withstood the test of time and are still used today. Zetton's one of the very few that has never changed as I recall.

Heh. Didn't mean it as a rag on more vintage-style figures, just pointing out that Bandai has made plenty of steps forward in the design of their figures and that certain molds haven't been in production for decades. Unfortunately, kaiju have also been discontinued that never received new sculpts, like Gubira, Aboras, Ron, Kingsaurus III, Aribunta, and so many others.
It's impressive than any of them are deemed suitable for use today, some (Zetton, Twintail) moreso than others (Teledon, ugh).
